Caroline sailed along the Channel to moor off the Isle of Man. Radio London took over the southern broadcasts.

Radio Caroline North History

I've just had a mention on Caroline Flashback! Only taken 60 years.
As for the ship sailing past. Mi Amigo was the Radio Atlanta ship whilst the MV Caroline was used by Radio Caroline, both moored off of Frinton. Atlanta shut down and the Mi Amigo became Radio Caroline South whilst the MV Caroline sailed past Brighton to go off to the Isle of Man and became Caroline North. Radio London arrived in October 1964 on board the MV Galaxy.

Ticked off the last of my Bucket List items last Sunday by visiting the Ross Revenge, the second and current Radio Caroline ship.
If you're of a certain age and remember the station, well worth the trip. 5 hour round car trip and 1.5 hour on board but so glad I did it. Putting the ship together to broadcast isn't just a matter of throwing in a couple of decks and a DJ. 300 tons of cement went into the hull to correct the 300 foot mast from tipping over! All the old gear is still there. Yes, she's a rust bucket now, but still it's Radio Caroline.

Somewhere on Youtube is a Caroline clip which features a 18yo Tony Blackburn and others possibly Simon Dee (whatever happened to him?) boarding a tender for a trip out to the ship from Harwich, Frinton, Felixstowe i don't know which but several DJ,s were carrying boxes and cases of records. Amazing stuff.
