I do not intend to be a referee to decide whether it is OFFSIDE.

I have a low tolerance for personal abuse. It is fair comment to criticise people's opinions. Fair comment to criticise an entertainer or a politican's performance.

Attributing a label on someone when it is not where they stand is not kosher either. How would you like to be called a Crystal Palace supporter?

Which is like saying, do not throw stones if you live in a glass bowl.

I know there are a few moronic gits that go to football matches and shout abuse.

I would not like to buy a season ticket and find out I am sitting next to one!

he may think he is entitled to his VIEWS but you are equally entitled to yours, you could politely inform him that his racist rantings are spoiling the afternoon for everyone in earshot and quite frankly making him look like a complete MORON. Alternatively you may suggest to him that he shut up, you may well find that if one person makes a remark that others can hear then they might be encouraged to speak up as well.........these people are often seriously dense and easily silenced....

Nice idea sydney, hopefully it can work without you getting a slap for your pains.

Only time I can honestly remember hearing Albion fans giving out racist abuse was at the ill-fated FA Cup game at Kingstonian. There were two lads sat on a wall behind the goal giving racist abuse to the home players, totally out of order and stupid considering 3-4 of the players wearing the stripes on that day were also black. I was there with my bruv, although we didn't confront them directly we just turned around and stared at them. I heard one of them say to the other, "shit, we had better shut up, I think those two blokes are coppers", neither of us are/were but the evil stare of disapproval worked. If it had been today I would probably have confronted them directly, then reported the matter to a steward if they continued.

All very sad. Noone should be abused for the colour of their skin, stewards need to take action against offenders.

Whats sad as well is that Looney tries to make a joke out of it all. Mind you, he doesnt like black people anyway so its no surprise. :nono:

Remember a similar thread after we played Watford last season. Any reason for this ? Other then a lot of their stewards are coloured ?

Several were but they were pretty good and Beachy had one of them falling about.

The stewards normally wont do anything unless they have police back up when its trivial like standing up or someone is pissed. If it comes to racial abuse how many of the stewards will turn away and make out nothing has happened ? Most of them , the reason why they are not going to get involved is they're only paid a pittance. The culprit at yesterdays match has already owned up so it wouldn't surprise me to find out he takes pleasure from being a racist. He probably thinks it funny as well to abuse (verbally) gay and disabled persons.
