Just a heads-up to anyone interested in football betting or want to know every summer transfer that's happened in all the divisions - in print.

So, their verdict on the Albion this season - an 11th placed finish. Brighton have taken a risk on the inexperienced Fabian Hurzeler but if the German can get his ideas across quickly then a top-half finish is certainly achievable given the talent at his disposal. However, it may take him time to find his feet on the south coast and a mid-table season is a more likely end point.

So partner up with some schmuck who has very little clue what they’re doing and isn’t banned anywhere (such as me, for example), come to some arrangement regarding who fronts up how much cash and how the winnings are split and make some more cash…?

If I did that and gave the person 25% of the profits it would contravene the terms and conditions.

Which is why I have never done that.

Ever.

Always remember that these predictions are no more than the verdict of a couple of people in an office. I never take notice.

Not necessarily a get rich quick scheme. No disrespect to the poster that started this arm of the conversation but having worked for William Hill for nearly 30 years, a banning isn’t saved for those that clean up every week, it happens to those that show the slightest indication they are not as stupid as most and can spot a bit of value. Therefore if you went in incognito you’d suffer the same fate relatively quickly. Most punters give up as it’s not worth the feckin aggro

Do you still work for William Hill? How do I contact customer services? I’ve had a balance of over £2,000 with WH for several years which is no longer visible on my account but I can’t for the life of me contact them to talk about it. Any idea how I can actually speak to someone about this? Thanks. (PM if preferred.)

No, sorry

I got out of that toxic industry six years ago and my mental health improved 100fold.

Customer Relations dept used to be (credit where due) one of best back in the day, I’m sorry to hear it no longer exists.

How right you are. My spreadsheet from the last thirty years shows an overall loss.
Yet, I have been shut down now by over thirty bookmakers simply by sucking the value out of their books. No need to give up though. The exchanges never shut you down.

If anyone would rather watch the Racing Post football season preview 2024/25 then it's available for free on their website.

At 90 minutes (no pun intended) long it takes up a fair bit of time but the tipsters, particularly Mark Langdon, offer some fantastic advice to put a few quid in your pocket and go through all the different markets.

Giving myself a four-week break from betting, I was raging earlier that I missed Slavia Prague to beat Union Gilloise with both teams to score (7/2) in the Champions League qualifying tonight. Got to have a break though before the near ten month marathon!

That methodology is literally how I've made money out of gambling over the years. Unfortunately - at a number of levels this for all concerned - I had to wave goodbye to 4 grand when the bloke who worked in the chippy passed away and the unexpected windfall went towards his funeral (He was on a percentage of winnings). I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I run into this old man down the pub who thanked for me for flagging it to his family (I said he let me have bet on his account) and his first words to me were "I thought that he was shit at gambling" "That's was about 15 years ago.

In this day and age there is still money to be made from gambling but it is much more difficult than it used to be. For example, Cheltenham and Royal Ascot used to be worth about 2.5k a festival to me. This year I think I made less than 500 out of the pair of them.

They rinse the mugs and restrict anyone that knows what they are doing. I tried to open a Bet MGM account for Cheltenham this year and was banned before I even had a bet. The best account I ever had was one I reused from someone who was addicted to gambling. That says it all.
