I’d bin off the recurring backstories or maybe show it as they go vs those annoying pre recorded clips. Some of them seem so far stretched. It’s the scenery, format and real time interactions that carry the show. Otherwise it will end up like the apprentice.

I’d say it would be have been a better show if you removed the story clips. How much did we gain from hearing about the old couple?

I also feel bad for the lad losing his mum so early but if I worked with him or that girl Jen from a few series’s ago, I’m pretty sure I’d still despise them both regardless of their story.

I know some people who've applied for the next series and I can't wait for the reaction on here if they're picked.

My daughter wants to apply with me because she thinks we'd win - based on our love of geography. I'm not so sure I could spend 50 days getting stressed with her (we wind each other up bigtime during normal times) and we'd miss an awful lot of Fulham games doing it.

You could start in Gibraltar then cross to Morocco, head down the west coast and get a ferry to the islands of Tenerife before hopping back on a ferry to Mauritania. That way you’d avoid the Western Sahara.

Then you’re in Senegal, Gambia, Ivory Coast and Nigeria. Keep going down the coast to Angola before cutting into Botswana and Zambia and then down into South Africa.

Or just get the Hardest Geezer to mark you a route.

Well, half of those are coastlines of desolate nothingness, Angola, Namibia in particular, km after km of wilderness and potential death for the unprepared.... no, sub Saharan Africa is a silly idea for groups of European tourists and camera crews to be flashing technology, money and naivety around, believe me when I tell you that they will, at some point, be robbed blind, or worse....

I think they're all part of a jigsaw that make the programme what it is. If you just want scenery then you might as will just watch videos of mountains etc!!

Kelly Brook the only one I know. She seems to have developed even more.
Started in northern Brazil. It's a much bigger country then they thought, those overnight coach journeys are killers.
They struggle communicating with the locals, who speak no English while the celebs speak no Portuguese.
Anyone else watch?

yep... love these series.. did think we would witness a divorce in episode one! Be interesting to see how this develops. Scott and Sam for me.

We'd never watched any of the RATW series before, but quite enjoyed Ep.1 this week tbh.

Really enjoyed it. Generally, I don't like celebrity formats (as most of the time I don't know the celebrities!) but it seems to work really well for RATW. The two versions of the show have slightly different identities - both a really good watch.
