Anyone see the quote from Micky in The Sun today about coming to the Withdean midweek...

'I was a coward. I went to a place where I could be sure of a warm welcome.'

Nothing to do with checking on Trev's form then...

No, a very nice thing to say in my book. We had already realised that Trev would go back before Wednesday night anyway.

Good old Mickey. I think he now realised that his ambition to manage in the Prem with Leicester was perhaps not in his own best interests. He has probably blown his chances of a job with a bigger club for a while.

He should have stayed with us for at least a season longer, and by now could have been the manager at Southampton or Spurs, clubs who are have reasonably sound finances

Once we have Falmer, I wouldn't be surprised if Micky returned one day! :)

Of course you could take the Sun's version of the quote. Or the full one in the Indepndent...

""I knew I'd get a warm welcome there. Call me a coward, but I was among friends, people that know and respect me."

The trip was part of his attempt to get back to something approaching business as usual...."

they must have taken other players back from loans at other clubs. maybe thats why he came to brighton rather than anywhere else. to check other players form. give him credit. he did a lot for this club.

Micky just wanted to be among friends, nothing wrong with that.
Everybody respects him at Brighton which is more than you can say for his current playing staff.

I think Micky copes remarkably well considering his life of constant grief at Leicester. It'll stand him in good stead for anything else that comes his way in his managerial career, that's for sure. And, sure, he had to see how Benjamin has shaped up, but who WOULDN'T want a bit of TLC after the week he's just had. He knows who his friends are. Top bloke.

Very true. I really thought he was going to resign with it all

Might actually have been a better career move for Micky if he HAD resigned on a matter of principle. While he was still a premiership manager. Same way as Alliance & Leicester are now pretending to be considering their position as sponsors in light of La Manga. Truth is, of course, they don't want to sponsor a non-Premiership club. La Manga just provided them with a handy way of burying bad news.

My favourite moment from last season was at the Crisp Bowl when Leicester won promotion by beating us 2-0. The whole ground, including approx 2,000 from Brighton singing in unison "there's only one Micky Adams". Very emotional.

Totally agree, who can blame him for coming back to a club were people see him as a legend, he's got to do something to boost his self-confidence so he doesn't resign!
