Drilling going on outside my flat (in the road) now, is this legal? does any one know? not sure whether to go and ask them what time its going on till?

i never got a letter to inform me of this, though they are building an inner ring road round here, why would they be drilling at 9pm

emergency repairs by the sound of it.

Happened to my friend once - severe gas leak reported during the day. GAs people decided to start drilling around 0200 as they suddenly decided it was an emergency! (or did they just want the overtime?). Oh how he laughed.

You should try living next to a level crossing.

When Network Rail decide to replace the road surface, they wait until 1 am to start the drilling - and they go on until about 5 am. Obviously they prefer to do this at weekends.

You should try living next to Colin Hawkins, up all night shouting and stuff. Last night it was all about his sore heel. After coming back heroically from the smashed conk you can imagine he's not best pleased.
