I have just turned it on and saw that Tariq Ali was on it. My blood started to boil because 40 years ago I ran a pub The Earl Russel in Kings Cross. He was in my pub and a lady(?) threw a glass on the floor in temper. I gave her a dustpan and brush and told her to pick it up. He said she is royalty and doesnt clean up glasses in a pub. When I asked who she was he said that is Miss Bernadette Devlin so I grabbed him around the throat and pushed his face into the ground saying if she doesnt clear it up you do, and he did. At the time I think that he was student at LSE and was a political demonstrator and lsitening to him tonight he is still a pain the a..e.

I thought it was a very interesting programme. I think it showed that both our main political parties have got the wrong leader. Liam fox and David milliband both gave more relevant and cogent answers and presented themselves in a better way than the current incumbents do.

Exactly what I thought watching it, especially David Miliband. He must have some real enemies within Labour, how they could have voted in that numpty of a brother instead is bewildering. I think most Prime Ministers/leaders should have had at least a short stint in the foreign office/shadow team, it seems to mean they actually know where other countries are and roughly what's going on there.

I was one of the voting people - I voted for Andy Burnham with David M as my second choice and Ed M third. I really thought though that Ed M would have grown into the role by now but he doesnt seem to have. I reckon a repeat contest in 18 months time albeit that I doubt David M will stand and the most likely winner will be Yvetter Cooper.

I'm not trying to start a political binfest as I think both sides are a complete shower at the moment, but Yvette Cooper really is scraping the bottom of the barrel

That wasnt typical behaviour but I was the BOSS in my pub and nobody ever had the opportunity to try to outdo me and be the boss and his arrogant attitude of 'she is royalty' really got up my back and as anybody of the 60s/70s would know Bernadette Devlin didnt come into that category in many people eyes, certainly not mine. Most people if given a dustpan and brush would have just swept it up or not thrown it down in temper in the first place. If it was a genuine accident I or one of my stafff would have cleared it up.

Not great but obviously a clever bloke and far better than his wife. Won't get elected though. I've said it about E Milliband and the same applies to Balls - subconsciously, I think the nation will never elect someone with a speech impediment
