How have your tastes changed as you've got older? I don't mean when you were a child/teenager when you're expected to listen to a lot of new things but since you were a young adult (19-22 say)

What has surprised me is that my musical tastes haven't changed hugely, I still listen to a lot of stuff that I did when I was about 20/21 - I expected to be listening to a lot of different music when I was 50. My diet is also pretty similar - it's still based on curry, cheese sandwiches, coffee and beer.

On the other hand, I find that the books and writers that I loved 30 years ago are almost unreadable now. And I can barely watch the same films either.

Have other NSCers found their tastes have changed in the same way?

Beer still tastes pretty good.

I don't drink tea very much 1 cup in th morning. When I was in my early twenties I had endless cups of tea a day but then I smoked. Through illness packed up smoking in 1995 and then got my taste buds back and realised I dont like the taste of tea much or coffee come to that.

i never used to like pizza or even anything involving tomatos. nowadays its only the texture of fresh tomatoes that is minging. music, films, books etc all seem to be in the same taste which is pretty widespread anyway. unless of course its rap music which is generally crap.

I still listen to the punk and ska of the late 70s and drink Harveys and Fullers and read war books. I stopped taking recreational drugs ages ago and dislike loud nightclubs.

I like an early night every now and again and I have been with the same woman and faithful for a year - ive gone off coffee but have been stuck on lemon squash for 5 years

Do you still have the same voices in your head MAX that you had 25 years ago that told you that it was GOD's work you were doing with your claw hammer?

Music: Has not changed, still Joy Division, The Cure, Clash although mixed with today's 'lite' versions of the same (Editors, Green Day, Kaiser Chiefs)

Food: More cosmopolitan, but curry is still king

Women: Still can't beat covering a good pair of norks with some fresh SPOODGE

I find that not that much has changed although I seldom ever listen to the music I heard in my twenties. Foodwise I'm not fastidious but I am careful thus avoiding junk food and excessive fat and sugar. Drinkwise I don't now and as far as women are concerned, I like them well enough but really don't see myself in a relationship again.

I'm older than El Pres but slightly younger than Doug. As it is I wouldn't describe my life as conventional but there again who would ?

I am hooked on lemon squash ! Has to be Robinsons though.

Not much has changed really as I've got older. I've become more "adult" in my food choices, ie healthier food and more experimentation, and have discovered a great love of fish (especially monkfish).

I listen to new music on the radio or telly but hardly ever actually buy anything (Green Day CD xmas pressie is the newest thing in my collection). I stick with the old faithfulls Queen/Floyd/Genesis etc.

Still love beer, but I don't (or more acurately can't) drink anywhere near the quantities I used to.

Edit: But I still act like a 2 year old and sulk for hours when Albion lose

i like to think that my tastes havent changed but they have, i was mixed up with the hells angels during my early days, and while i still ride motorbikes dont think i could ever follow that particular life style again. FFS i was driving along in my van the other day humming along to the new madonna and kelly clarkson songs!

Lemon squash?

Nah. Lemon barley for me.

As far as music is concerned, one thing I know is that I will be seriously pissed off if anyone tries to put me away in an old people's home and we have Vera Lynn sing-songs every afternoon.

Never really been into music in a big way.

Drink: dropped lager in favour of Guinness at about age 40 and dropped white wine in favour of red at about age 44 (quite like rose too now)

Weened myself off sugar in coffee and tea when I was about 25 - was a 3 spoons man, now I'm very glad I'm not

Food: Didn't have my first curry till I was about 25 !! now one a month. Didn't have my first Chinese until aged 30, now that's once a fortnight.

Teeth flossing: started when I was about 43 ...

Dinosaur Junior come to mind in that respect

Tea is the biggest addiction. Beats tobacco and alcohol.

Can't drink more than three pints of tea though. About the same as wine in that respect.

Near the park.
I find that I like to be in bed for about 8pm and that my 'old chap' has shrunk to about the size and texture of a cocktail sausage.

I get tired going to the toilet. Which I do approx 95 times a day.

Bits of me have gone grey and other bits yellow.

I smell of wee and all my family and friends avoid me.

Ladies view me with sympathy.

I have become allergic to house dust and children.

I smoke woodbines and drink milk stout.

And knock things over.

And have grapes hanging out me arse.

I am 41

:(

It's interesting to see that other people's musical tastes haven't changed, although, thinking about it, my old man's didn't, so I should have been guided by what happened to him

Although I still like beer, I drink less of it than I did 30 years ago.
