question about the missed penalty

If the ball had gone in would the goal been not allowed as no other player had touched the ball after it hit the post?

It did, which is what made me check BBC. But if it was Lawrence who took the rebound, it would've been a deadball, and a free kick.

You're right - it would have been disallowed if it was Lawrence, as long as nobody else had touched it in between.

Correct. The ball has to be touched by another player before the penalty taker can touch the ball again.

If the keeper saves, the penalty taker can (legally) follow-up. If it hits the post, someone else has to kick it.

Just to be controversial the ref blew for time as soon as the kick had been taken did he allow time for it to be taken in accordance with the Rules of Football so even if they had scored the rebound would he have allowed it or said that it was time. The rules allow for time to be added for the kick but not for anything else, so on that assumption the game finishes when the kick has been taken.

Lawrence didnt follow up after it hit the post.

Referee did not blow for FT as soon as the kick was taken.
