Even contest in the first half, but much more in our favour in the second even before the sending off. Slick passing at times, but definitely lacking the spark that we had 2 years back.

It was a good time to play QPR (players sold and injured), but we have to be looking at top 6. I cannot see us being consistent enough for the title when we don't have a big squad.

If we get 2 decent stirkers in permanently it could be very different, until then we just won't know what lies ahead.

Personally I think this division is much weaker than 2 seasons ago. QPR are no better this season than they were then, but they've got a good shot. Bristol City no longer have Scott Murray & Brian Tinnion is getting old. Sheff Wed will be okay, but playing at Hillsborough is going to work against them. I think Oldham will make the play-offs again, but aren't the team of last season. Brentford are rubbish.... and who else is there?

I think we'll win this division if Knight signs

Take the Mad out of your name Gerald as I concur completely. I think playoffs are the best we can realistically hope for. Bristol City will probably be Champions and then you've got Sheff Wed, QPR, Tranmere and a few others in the mix - all with bigger grounds and sizeable support. Besides, the playoffs are the way to go up now - more money!! :clap2:

Might be more money for the club, but on a selfish note, it's a big expense for the fans.

I'd rather win the playoffs than just be in the other automatic promotion place, though.

Championship it is, then!

Seriously, though, I think we need a few more good wins before we set our sights above mid table.

If you could all surrender your season tickets now please, there are people out there who really need them, who do believe in our ability to get promoted this season. Why the f*** do you watch/care if you don't have confidence in our team.

I will never go to watch a game thinking we can't win, which means we can only go up as Champions.

I'm sure you won't miss your tickets, get yourself a subscription for ManUTV with the proceeds.

I salute your optimism and although I cannot share it (yet - as I said, if we sign 2 decent permanent strikers then it could be very different), I still go to the games hoping we'll win.

All I'm saying is I don't believe we have the quality throughout the squad to win consistently enough.

:p ??? :)

I know, I know, just let's all be optimistic, we've won 2, beaten one of the favorites, got the nucleus of a great div 2 team, Knight wants to sign permanently, Kanchelskis is on his way to joining us, we've got brilliant fans, a couple of signings wouldn't go amiss I agree, so there's no need to be downhearted at this stage of the season.

Comon you Superseagulls!!!

Jesus - you must be the blinkered Albion fan Andy Naylor accused me of being. I heard a Man City fan on 606 claiming they were going to win the league. I would imagine he is very much in the minority but by your logic would be the only one in the ground.

I very rarely lose my temper on the internet knowing how many wind up merchants are lurking. But what the :censored: gives you the right to tell me how to support my team. If you want to play my dick is bigger than yours then my answer is yes to the following :-

Getting on for a 1000 Albion games.
50+ away grounds
Season Ticket Holder for 15 years
Season Ticket Holder at Gillingham
Member of whatever Des Lynams money making scheme was called
Putting up Yes Yes Balloons around Hove
And countless others I can't be bothered to list. The point is I'm no glory seeking fly by night.

But I have to give my season ticket up because I don't think we will win every game. I really despair of this board sometimes. :nono:

Whose pessimistic? Realism and Pessimism are 2 different things. If you are all so certain we are going to win the league - why haven't you all got £1000 on it?

In my opinion, there are better teams in this division than us. We are playing above the sum of our parts due to an outstanding coach. We currently have 2 loan strikers who could disappear at any time and will be reliant on loan signings for the rest of the season. We will always be struggling to attract players because of Withdean.

We could (and I sincerely hope we do) win the league or we could come bottom and our Port Vale chum could be right and they win the league. My best guess based on what I have seen so far and from talking to fans of rival teams is that, all things being equal, we will finish in the playoffs. And it seems as if that makes me a pessimist and not worthy of a season ticket.
