I am actually looking forward to this game,
Estupiñán And Caicedo likely starters - Hopefully they will Smash the hosts whilst taking the piss with their South American flair - With the headlines reading “Some Things Money Can Buy But Not South American Flair At A World Cup “
...Or tractors from Suffolk.

good chance of a red for Caciedo if you believe the conspiracy theories. Can you get odds on that.

Reuters reporting that the Qatar national squad and its manager will receive a public flogging in Al Jabour Souk Waqif Square if they fail to qualify from the group, so they'll certainly be motivated.

Just heard the Crystal Palace 'We love you...' chant as part of the Opening Ceremony.

As if things couldn't get any worse.

The Beeb are doing a full run down of all the controversies as part of their run up to the game. Now back to Lineker etc to comment which could get interesting

Loving the build up on Al jazerra and half way though a bottle of Gary Barlow's finest vino already . With three Albion players poised to start in the first ever World Cup to be held in a muslim country and carbon neutral as well , doesn't get any better than that shirley . Just wish i could have made it out there but probably better to be sitting at home and watching on TV with my house batteries fully charged on Solar power .

I got my series of World Cup meals going with Ecaudorian llapingachos (a kind of potato cake) with a fried egg, avocado, and a tomato and onion salsa.

Post-match, the plan is to rock the Kabsa, Qatar style.

I was going to try and make some Canelazo but it turns out I can’t be arsed.

Cold beer and pork scratchings in though in honour of the hosts’ well known tolerance levels
