Absolutely no chance.

My morals are not for sale*

*Something along the lines of the $150m they are paying Beckham might make that standpoint tricky
Indeed. You can remove the "m" in "$150m" and I'd do a lot of immoral stuff..

I hope I'm chosen,I'm on the final list of 55 from Wales,I presume this is the same list Dunky Webbo, and Welbz are on,I'll probably get overlooked as Manchester is quite near to Wales.

It's nice to see so many of you with such strong principles. But how many of you would hold your nerve if actually offered?

I'd take the trip.
I'm inclined to agree. Its very, very easy to sit at a keyboard and thumb your nose at it when you're not actually in a position to make a choice, and never will be.

But if your inbox pinged with a legit offer of this paid trip to watch England in the World Cup, tickets travel and accommodation all sorted, I wonder how many would ACTUALLY reply immediately with "f*** off", and hit delete.

I've never been to a World Cup. I'm not gonna lie, I would be at least considering it. I'm going to be watching it regardless.

Hahaha. They are absolutely desperate to get people there.

Could this be the first World Cup in years with empty stands in most games?
Weirdly though there’s very little tickets around. Englands Iran game is about 90%, but Wales and USA sold out.

The English FA just released sone of their sponsors tickets to the club as well

We are pleased to announce that we have managed to secure additional tickets to the following matches:

KNOCK-OUT STAGE
Round of 16: 150
Quarter Final: 110
3rd Place Play off: 150

Generally I can’t find tickets for any games when I’m out there so someone’s bought them 🤷🏻‍♂️

They'll be filling the stands with migrants on freebies. It would be a TERRIBLE look if there are acres of empty stands, they won't allow it. People will be marched in at gunpoint, if necessary.

You think FIFA have given free tickets to migrants rather than sell them for £30-£100 ? Maybe they’re not the greedy bastards everyone thinks

Absolutely not but those who have sold their souls should make amends by singing this chorus loud and proud at every opportunity (I expect they will only get one)

It’s interesting in terms of Englands allocations it’s actually similar to Russia with the uptake. First game didn’t sell out but latter games did and the knockouts increased rapidly as we progressed.

For the arabs, its all about appearances. Do you think there'll be 50,000 in the stadium for Denmark v Tunisia without a ranch of freebies ? Rafts of empty stands in these gleaming new stadiums would only reinforce the folly of awarding this tournament to a tiny population of migrants living in a dustbowl.

I dunno, but why would they be giving away freebies rather than selling tickets ? The extra games we’ve wanted haven’t had any tickets for sale for months

I’ve just checked currently only 4 games out of the whole tournament have any tickets for sale. So they’ve gone somewhere

Similar theme, just downloaded that Redknack show on sky about collecting Panini stickers in real life. First scene was in Qatar and I turned it off and deleted it. All without really thinking, just that I felt I shouldn't be watching this.

Probably because there simply isn't the demand for it. There are so many reasons NOT to want to go - location, draconian restrictions, logistics, and not least the cost of it, especially in the current economic climate. In terms of travelling fans (actual fans), this will probably be the most poorly attended World Cup in living memory.

I’m sorry - you’re chatting absolute bollocks. Why would FIFA stop selling almost all tickets ? Most games have been sold out for months.

Also to confirm the take up from England fans so far is pretty much in line with Russia & actually slightly above South Africa so it hasn’t really changed compared to other ‘long distance’ world cups

Also 3 weeks ago BA scheduled an A380 to Doha because of additional demand so must be some people buying airline tickets.

OK, I'll happily stand to be corrected when it all starts.

Not a cat in hells chance, no interest whatsoever. Wasn't till I saw the thread about Albion players in a ridiculously large squad that I remembered it was taking place this month
