Having a nightmare with this. I’m crap at DIY and trying to put up a simple roller blind. You used to be able to get them with a tension pole that simply snaps into place within the window frame, with a bracket on each end to hold it securely.

These seem to be outrageously expensive nowadays, so I’ve tried another type, which I had to saw down to size. This was a massive palaver and I couldn’t do it.

Any tips or advice for an easy way to put up a simple roller blind in a bedroom? I’m at the stage where I’m considering hiring someone to do it, cost be damned.

Doesn't help you in the slightest but this thread has reminded me of one of my favourite ever jokes, to which the punchline is:

"Nice tits, now where do you want these blinds?"

Thank you for brightening my evening.

Can you take some photos.

I've never heard of a blind you need to saw down to size.

There are loads of cheap identikit companies on the internet where you measure the window and it comes through the post made to size.

I think you’re getting confused; some of those are VAR referee recruitment agencies.

If it's what I think it is, you cut the pole down to size and then also cut down the roller material to match.

Like this video...

Plenty of roller blinds need cutting to size, its a simple job with a marker pen, stanley knife and hacksaw.
