Class act,Bags of obvious potential, good age, excites the fans, wants to play for the club, I can go on.Looks like a very sound long term investment, the sort of player that would be pivotal in getting us out of Div.1 and beyond. These are the sort of players that we need to be signing if the Prem. is a realistic 5 year target.

I really, really want him to sign long term just can't see it happening. He celebrated the goal as if he is really enjoying his time here. If we can get him on loan to the end of the season I think we have done well there.

How long is he contracted to Newcastle for?

Irrelevant. Compensation is likely to be more than we can afford (assuming Newcastle offer him a new contract).

More's to the point, why was Chris Iwelumo not signed up when we had the chance? Imagine Kazenga's crosses on to him. Just the man to put the ball in the net. Cracking hat-trick for Burnley against Preston. All for the sake of a relocation allowance.

Because he was demanding too much money. As I understood it, he wanted the club to buy him a new home equivalent to the mansion he had in Stoke.

Mansion in stoke = £0.49
Mansion in Brighton = £500,000

Piss poor as we had salvaged his career from the doldrums that were Stoke reserves. Poor judgement on his part and he spent a year in the sticks in Germany.

Thats not how I remember it. I remember McGoo saying he was not good enough for Championship.
