Pulis: It's going to be an extremely difficult tie for us, it's their cup final

They have nothing to play for in their league and will finish just below half way. We have everything to play for every game being vital. Thus more of a big day for them I'd think! Also we have nothing to loose and they do! Opposition isn't the main criteria it's the importance of the match to the team and they could reach an actual final or have a boring season depending on result. We will have a tense few months whatever happens Saturday.

So what you are saying, in effect, is that this match is actually THEIR CUP FINAL !!!

Whilst I do not regard this as our 'cup final' in anyway, I am really looking forward to this now. I think it's an interesting contrast of styles, and we have come so far it would be rude not to try and win this game, hoping for three up front. To be honest I don't really have a lot of time Stoke, the place, the team or the fans but I think the online fans we have encountered so far have been more than reasonable.

It's a very tough game for us, but we go with some real hope of an upset, should indeed be a cracking day out.

Wow, our first Cup Final since 1983, I can't tell you how excited and honoured I feel to be playing against Stoke City.

What time does the pre-match rendition of Abide With Me start, please? I don't want to miss out on any of the great Cup Final traditions.

Do you know what? I think you've stumbled onto something there.

It would be HILARIO if 4,000 Brighton fans, sing "Abide with me" before the game, in HOMAGE to Pulis' insightful comments.

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

We've won a lot more than Stoke City.

Ah the fifties. What an era. Or maybe you mean the magical Fairs cup win of 68, a trophy set up outside of UEFA to promote commerce between cities hosting International trade fairs.

I was always a Royal Engineers fan myself in those days.

I think Pulis IS being patronising here. Yeah, we have had a few proper "It's their cup final" matches in recent years, notably away to Spurs and Villa who are both proper big clubs.

White Hart Lane and Villa Park are historic veneues where fans will rightly remember their day out, win, lose or draw. Stoke and their Britannia Stadium generic box of a ground are not in the same echelon and this is a pretty ordinary draw if truth be told. Pulis is kidding himself. Pin the article up on the dressing room wall Gus, and highlight the words "It's their cup final". 7-2 are pretty good odds against a side not renowned for their ability to play the Beautiful Game.

WORD, as always

Unless Stanley Matthews is going to make a comeback, Stoke City away will never get the juices flowing.

I love the FA Cup, and what appeared to be a rather anticlimactic, stale sort of fixture has been brought to life by Pulis's arrogance. This fixture is really growing on me.

We have the latent potential of a skilful Albion side up against the military brawn of a well-marshalled Stoke side who are beginning to sense they have a chance of their first proper Wembley Final since 1972.

Poyet is a proud man and he won't go into the tie anything less than fully committed, I'm sure. My one worry is injuries from what could be a feisty and physical contest.
