Don't be mean. He's got kids with him. Your easiest option is to go to The Sportsman at the ground. It's nice enough and kid friendly but will be heaving. They have a very very occasional ban on away fans so you might want to give them a ring first. If you get there with less than an hour to KO you'll need to be prepared to queue outside. Will probably be full of your lot having unloaded from coaches anyway.

Preston Brewery Tap mate. Kids are welcome, even tiny ones. It's only a ten minute walk to the ground and the natives are friendly. Do not, repeat NOT, go to The Sportsman. It's right next to the ground, but has just about the worst bar service of any pub in Brighton. You'll go thirsty if you even attempt it. Fact.
