I am going to meet up wit ha chap with the same name as me through facebook who originates from Lancing but now lives in Suffolk. His family moved to South Shields and then Suffolk and he is going to Lancing tracing his family tree hence he wants me to arrange a meet at a pub that has wi fi in Lancing. Any suggestions of a reasonable pub that fits the bill or alternatively a coffee shop if not a pub.

Not sure bout pubs, there's an internet coffee shop just off the high street north of station and all the banks in Culver Road (the road with Sussex FA HQ / Lancing FC on it.)

Man - I thought it was weird your name being Bens Grandad - but there's TWO of you? ? ?

What are the chances of that happening eh?

OOooooohh, Lancing has obviously gone a bit more up-market since I last visited a few years ago; then, I'd never seen so many chavs and scrape-haired pram-faces loitering with no intent!!!

Home — The New Sussex Hotel Lancing

Free Wifi in the hotel and the best pub in the area. They are really making an effort here and deserve some support.

Is that the place that used to be near the mini roundabout just before Lancing Green? Massive transformation if so? The pub before (forget the name) was served the pub equivalent of an ASBO several times & I believe had its licence revoked due to the 'goings on' there.

As re the OP's question: There's three pubs in Lancing that I know of & they're all shit. The Merry Monk & Farmers are well dodgy & The Harvester which is merely naff.

Was known as the Three Horsemeats, sorry Horseshoes. Crabtree's alright, certainly compared to all the others.

Miller and Carter steakhouse in North Lancing has a bar and beer garden and is brilliant. Not sure about wifi.
New Sussex Hotel is also decent, not sure about Wifi again though.

As other people have said stay clear of Merry Monk and The Farmers.
Lancing aint that bad though guys

I second the "New Sussex Hotel", after living in Lancing all my life I can honestly say the pub is a god send for the area, decent beers (Dark Star APA & Harveys) decent bar staff (lovely young lady when I was last in there) decent decor, comfy cheers and a nice mix of clientele, closest thing to the Duke in Shoreham that I've ever encountered in Lancing
