PT was stupid when he swapped Wicks for Lee

stupid and lucky In my opinion

just say Cullip and Morgan had both got injured, or been unavailable through suspension, we would have been screwed as Pethick hadnt really become a cb then(if I recall) and Hinsh Jr wasnt even around, so by getting rid of wicks he left us with only three centre backs(Morgan,Cullip,Virgo), which I think was very risky, we were lucky with injuries or less we'd have been in trouble.
also, if Wicks had stayed, we'd have never bought Butters in the summer
I know people dont rate Wicks(well some people) but i'm sure he was more useful to us than Lee!

The times I saw him play I though Wicks was a fair player.

I remember his debut against Torquay. He went off with a head injury but got a standing ovation as he walked off past the south stand. Apparently he's only hooked up with the team the day before.

Yeah, he got rid of quite a few players and the ones he got in weren't any good which left us with the super weak squad hinsh inherited

I agree that Wicks was more than useful at Division 2 level but I seem to remember someone saying his attitude was wrong and he thinks he's better than he actually is.

Indeed it was.

A certain other BHA defender was less than impressed with Mr Wicks opinion of himself as far too good to play at that level.

And his attitude impressed Taylor so much that not only did he get rid of him from Brighton but he shifted him out of Hull City pronto as well

as far as i know he hasn't got a club.

Peter Taylor was a complete muppet in the transfer market, and always has been. The signing of David Lee must rank highly with the signing of Akinbiyi for Leicester, except we at least didn't pay £5m for David Lee. Wicks was a good player, had a bit of an attitude problem which Taylor was incapable of handling, unlike our great Steve Coppell. How much longer has Lee got on his contract?

I thought I was on the club web site when I saw a discussion about Wicks Lee and PT! - although it will only be on there next month.

Lee has another year left on his contract. I mean, I understand the whole Wicks attitude problem thing, but getting rid of him for a midfielder/striker who couldnt get in at a 3rd division club and leaving us with hardly any centre backs was stupid.

Not Lewes
PT was just stupid anyway. He needs a transfer kitty which he didn't have with us, and he will just skint Hull now getting them out of the Third Division.

Wicks was very poor for team moral - constantly causing dressing room disputes.

Although Lee isn't so good Wicks had to go for the sake of team spirit.

Steele was out of contract but even so it was right to let him go as he was a liability (undisciplined pi$$ head)
