Yes, they can be good.

Games are pretty good, and they are Wifi enabled so you can browse the web.

Also you can watch films on them too. Any DVD can be converted to PSP format, and transfered to a memory stick.

Very pretty, but the poor button configuration make it a SHITE games machine. Most studios have pulled out of making UMD films as no one bought them, and too big to be an MP3 player. Got mine in Xmas 2005 and played on it for about two weeks.

Far better off with a DS Lite. Not as sophisticated or powerful, but far more fun.

But if you get a 1.5 firmware PSP you need never pay for a game as you can download them all.

Spot on. PSP is vastly overrated.... games are shit, no films being made for it. Even Football Manager is dull

Depends what you want it for - if you want something that you can cart around easy enough - play anywhere you want then it's great - It's not and Xbox 360 - but you can't play one of them on a train or a t work can you?

I like Football manager handheld 2007 - but it is maybe just a tad to basic, I miss teh finacial stuff regards the club you have no idea how much csah etc is/was available. the training though is in depth enough for me as i can't be bothered with half of it on the PC. It also doesn't give the toatl matche slayed etc in player history - don't know why it bothers me it just does.

I love my PSP. I don't play PS2 anympre (girlfriend) so i play it on the train. virtually the same gameplay as the ps2. I only buy high rated games (lego star wars is class). Doesn't bother me that they are virtually the same as the ps2 version.

But the best thing for me is the ability to watch video. I watched all of season 5 of 24 on video with the psp and watching season 6 now. Do agree that putting films onto UMD is a failure but can the the DS lite play films?

Same reason i bought a PSP - if i sat at home in front of the main tv all evening the other half would go mad - but i can get away with lounging on the sofa and going "yes dear" "no dear" at various intervals while she cahsts away and watches corrie, Eastenders etc without hassle.

Why do the majority women hate games machines and PC's so much anyway - My PC used to be a real bone of contention?

PSP is absolutly superb. I can watch movies on the train, listen to my music when I'm out and about, or play some games.. SmackDown VS RAW, Medal of Honour and GTA Liberty City Stories are class, I live on mine.. a top machine. had it since it came out and still use it daily.

My PSP has version 3.03 OE-C which is a custom firmware which gives you all the latest functionality but also able to play downloaded games, I have a 4Gb mem stick with all the latest games on it for free and its ace.

Also have a DS lite but the games on that are aimed at 10 years olds mainly so its shit so the PSP gets more of a look in. I never use my PS2 now either.

I am currently playing Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops which is PSP only and is a brilliant game.

Not quite sure why its getting slagged on here.

Absolutely AWESOME piece of kit.

Plays games (and it really is like having a PS2 in your pocket) plays DVDs, superb quality MP3 player.

Wireless Internet browsing

The screen is fantastic.

Some excellent add-on accessories.

OK, so I know I sound like a Sony rep, but its brilliant.

Get one - TODAY.

A good solid device, but you need to weigh up whether you're going to use it.

I barely ever use mine these days so am going to sell it.

But it was a good craic when I used to work lonely, boring night shifts
