Strangely, I already Googled "disoriented or disorientated" for a piece I was writing this morning, but got no clear answer.
Just suggestions that one is more British and the other more American, or that one is a verb and the other an adjective.
It sounds better without the "ate", though.

so what word would you use instead of 'orientation' ?
To orientate to me means to point something in a certain direction.
Orientated means it's pointing in a certain direction.
It's similar to the word velocity in some respects.
