Pro Evolution 3 - a GREAT idea...

I've had an excellent idea with which to occupy my sad life this evening, in those long, dark hours before I'm a Celebrity comes on.

I'm going to do a Pop Star XI and a Film Star XI on Pro Evolution Soccer 3. I'll edit the players names and appearances to look like the real thing. I'll have Arnold Schwarzerneggar in his Terminator guise (crew cut and Edgar Davids sunglasses) up front with Johnny Depp. Sylvester Stallone in goal (like in Escape to Victory). As for the Pop Star XI, I might have Michael Jackson up front with George Michael. Marilyn Manson on the wing. The Beatles as my "Fab Back Four". Marvellous.

Any other suggestions ? (other than me getting a life)

Absolutely. My mate got the update disk, so all I had to do was copy his saved option file from his memory card. None of this "North London" bollocks for me.

Ignore the others Easy10, I think it's an excellent idea. But then, I rarely leave the house either.

Of course, we're not far away from the time when online PES3 (or 4 or 5) will be the norm - in a couple of years, the Inter-NSC Cup may come down to a final between your Film Star XI and my Cartoon Legends XI. And the great thing about my big centre forward Obelix is that he wears blue and white stripes anyway.

(By the way - my team doesn't actually exist. Yet. Mind, once I work out how to create a fish-like goalkeeper and a large-breasted redskin winger, I'll be on the case.)

It's got all the real flags looking real good; all the real life starting formations and 11's. Really good updated kits. And all of the January transfers sorted.

You can only get it if you download it with an X-Port though. I have one though. So anyone who wants all the updated bits n bobs can get it of my mem. card if they want.

Been there, done that.

I even created the entire Allies team.
Along with creating the Albion of course, I also changed the England team to a "pub" team basically made up of all my mates.

And I created a player with 99 in every stat, called him God and gave him long white hair and a beard.

I am phenomenally sad.

Thats not as sad as spending an entire afternoon copying out a game on the Spectrum in BASIC from a magazine (about 6 pages worth), hitting "RUN" and the fecking thing not working. And having no clue why.

Great games in their time, but I think nostalgia paints a prettier picture. Times change, things move on. I bet those games would seem shite now.
