That's all fair enough. I think for people like me who are up at the crack of dawn it may just be more about the practicality of straight back to the hotel area for a night cap and a zonk without any more faff.I don't want to speak for @SeanInRome, but I think why he drops fans off in the Vatican-ish area is that he has a place that is friendly/relatively safe for people to drink and socialise post-match.
I was thinking if we use Sean, we'd then just get a cheap taxi right back to the door of our hotel, also Termini-ish, when the time came.
For previous games, it also tends to be Termini. That's all fair enough. I think for people like me who are up at the crack of dawn it may just be more about the practicality of straight back to the hotel area for a night cap and a zonk without any more faff.
Any idea where the official coaches are dropping off?
Im with you on this. Other wise this will end up one step away from 'if you could take a left at the osteria antica, past the trattoria that serves a great carbonara (no cream) and drop me at the bar with the aperol parasols outside, that would be great and here is an extra euro for your troubles'I don't want to speak for @SeanInRome, but I think why he drops fans off in the Vatican-ish area is that he has a place that is friendly/relatively safe for people to drink and socialise post-match.

Finally, we’ve got a train booked with Italo rail on the 8th to Milan as flying back late that night. Do you think the strike will impact every train company or is it pretty random. Cheers
Cheers for that. Will just have to factor in enough time I guessI'll answer this bit, as Sean already has. He believes that Italo trains should mainly run, as it's a private company, but there may be delays as the trains are running on state-owned lines.
I think I mixed you up yesterday with someone who was leaving to Milan at 7am that’s why I chosCheers dude. I found one near the station which had really good reviews and decent price called hotel rossi.
Good Morning,Sean. You mentioned pick up near the Vatican. As there are many staying in the train terminal area, any chance of pick up there. Similar with post match bar. Would be great to be together safely in a bar, but it could be a long way from our hotel. Staying Via Carlo Alberto area.

My BadI was put off by the advert targeting English people using American English spellings!
Never a good look.
The private trains should still run with slight delays and we’ll keep you all updated and will help with a last minute solution should a problem occur.@SeanInRome Sounds a great idea tbf. Any idea atm what time you’ll be heading off from the Vatican pls? Just trying to see how that works with collecting match tickets (which I’ve still not seen details of via the Ckub yet).

Over the years doing this it’s always been a more experienced aged traveler.@SeanInRome thanks for all your information on here first of all, very much appreciated.
Do you have a deadline for booking or max number of places? Also do you get a mix of ages? I will be with my 17 year old son who wanted to know if it would just be "oldies"?
Thanks, your first line describes me perfectly but definitely not him. I'll have a think and a chat.Over the years doing this it’s always been a more experienced aged traveler.
Younger guys tend to take the free buss as they’ve not had enough bad away days to know the difference in comfort.
We do always have a hand full of younger people but I don’t know this until match day.
Anyway around the Vatican plenty of young people to look at,not that I look at young people
