I have been trying to sort out my printer but HP customer back up is abysmal. You have to take out a service contract to get an answer for anything. So the answer has to be ask NSC.

I have a HP deskjet F4180 Printer scanner copier and everytime I try to print something it prints out a test page before and after the document I want to print.

I have turned it off and on then unistalled all of HP off of my pc and then re installed it from HP downloaded drivers but still the problem occurs. Any ideas please

Have tried all the suggestion on Fixya and none have worked any body got any other ideas. I have unistalled the printer and drivers and reinstalled printer using drivers downloaded from the HP site. Still it prints out a test page before printinga document and then after each printed or copied sheet.

I've got an HP printer and have had the same problem.First you need to go into Control Panel on your Start menu (where you go on to your main screen, bottom left hand.Click on your printer, clear any outstanding documents.Shut down computer, disconnect the printer, restart computer, make sure outstanding documents are clear.Shut down computer & re-start with printer reconnected & internet on.If you have a start up disc for your printer, insert it if prompted. If not,do a search for your printer with its full reference number and HP will offer you the relevant driver downloads.Usually have to shut down & restart yet again and you will be ok.No contracts to sign, make sure it's the USA site, not some german/uk rip-off.Hope this works for you UTA:bhasign:

I must not speak too soon but I think that may have solved it as I printed out a letter without any test pages so keeping fingers crossed. Many thanks Two Proffessors.
