Sorry to waste your time but im a technical tard!

Got a new laptop recently loaded the drivers for my old Lexmark printer onto it (got them off the website as it is Vista) but for the life of me it wont print.

It keeps saying on the jobs list that the document/printer is offline even though in the printers section it is saying it is ready. Wont print a test page either.

Any ideas greatfully appreciated, thanks.

Sure the printer is connected to the PC itself?

The printer could be connected to the wall, but not plugged in to a USB port.

You're sure the drivers are for Vista ?

Uninstall all of the printer software and drivers, leave the printer on and plugged in to the laptop, restart laptop and let vista detect and install the drivers for the printer

Assuming that the printer is compatible with Vista, a whole lot of kit isn't.
