Luton win brings the point deductions hanging over Everton and Forest into play. The league needs a Luton win to really keep that relegation fight interesting. It would also bring Palace into the mix.
Two of those awful needless draws being wins and we'd be like-for-like. Think we've got a harder run in this time though.I’ve just done a like for like comparison to last season after 28 games. It goes like this :
2023/24 P28 W11 D9 L8 GD6 Pts 42
2022/23 P28 W13 D7 L8 GD16 Pts 46
So for all those naysayers not a huge difference despite the fact that we’ve had a significant number of injuries, more than last season. We’ve also played 8 more games (Europa League) and all the matches have taken place in a shorter time frame. Our 28th league fixture for 2022/23 (Spurs away) took place on the 8th of April. Food for thought.
The same applied last season too - Nottingham Forest and Brentford draws and Fulham defeat all at home after we completely dominated. Let’s not forget the 5-1 loss to Everton either. It’s football - anything happens and does. There’s no denying that our run in this season is tough but I feel we play better against the so called top sides. Another couple of months and we’ll know. Two of those awful needless draws being wins and we'd be like-for-like. Think we've got a harder run in this time though.
We are extremely unlikely to catch Villa, so need for them to beat the 'Ammerswould Villa beating West Ham be the best result for us to get us within breathing distance of West Ham? I’d take that or a draw at worse.
It is Sky Sprots NZ 4. I sent my TV off to NZ about 20 minutes agoWhy's the luton forest game not televised, annoying.
Brentford 1:0 down and down to ten menBrentford would go two points above the drop zone if they lose this one and Luton win
