To be fair that was in the Championship.

Does seem bizarre that Arsenal pay £50m for a player who played the whole season in a back 3 and then play him in the centre of a back 4!

They did sign David Luiz when he was way past his best as a defender. Odd team.

Seems even more odd they are after Ramsdale at 20m + after letting Martinez go for 15m. I still have my doubts as to whether Arteta is the right man for that job.
Think Brentford will get about 35 -38 points which will possibly just be enough to stay up.

When you have players like Tierney, Saka, Maitland-Niles it cries out for 3 at the back.

They could play Gabriel with White and Mari either side.

Standing ovation to Bukayo Saka, get a feeling he's going to get one everywhere he goes this season, great scenes.

One half of football into the season and already folk making definitive statements like this. Let's see how they cope when the going gets tough. It's hardly a surprise that they've come out strongly first game in the prem at home against one of the big guns anyone should fancy themselves against.

I hope that at the fifth time of asking, we notch up regular wins. Mid table throughout would be a huge leap forward.

Then we as supporters won’t need to fret about the form of Brentford and others.

Taking control of our own destiny.

We played Cooper alongside him. Our full backs were Ayling and Barry Douglas (who was injured lots). That's how Alioski ended up there with Stuart Dallas. I was always slightly concerned at White's lack of physicality but he did look as though he built himself up during his time at Brighton. The big difference was that in the Championship we had so much more possession than our opponents. We still do now but it is nearer 55-45 in the Prem. In the Championship we must have been 60-40 most games. So in terms of being really tested, like when you are under the cosh, it didn't happen too often. Because Dunk and Webster are so good in the air maybe other teams just assumed he was good in the air too.

Arsenal looking very Brightony in this second half: Lots of creativity, few clear opportunities, when they do get one, they miss the target.

Brentford need to get a couple more now for the complete Brightony Arsenal makeover.
