Burnley, Bournemouth, Watford, Norwich (likely going down) and Palace.

We're bigger than the first three definitely.

Is that the same Burnley who have been Football League Champions twice, have managed to be promoted to the Premier League three times since its inception, have won the FA Cup once, along with the Community Shield twice and have also reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup?

And purely for working class pride's benefit, have a record home attendance over 18,000 higher than Brightons best.

On what grounds exactly are you basing your statement that "Brighton are definitely bigger that Burnley" on?

What is a 'big' club?
One known internationally and whose shirts are worn by football fans around the globe. A team whose fixtures add 20% to the gate.
In which case neither Brighton nor Burnley are 'big'

But one of them has a better chance of being big than the other who have tried and been relegated each time!

It's a forum for discussion isn't it?

Someone has made an utterly ridiculous statement and you'd rather have a dig at me than engage in the subject - quite probably as my point is demonstrably right and you have no answer to that other than to ignore the point and take the piss.

Burnley are a historically bigger than they currently appear and make no doubts if they had a 40000 stadium right now they would have filled it,we would too in the Premier...if the Goldstone was not hemmed in and the East terrace sqaured up and with a rood could have held 25000 and been like the Longside and our record attendance would been well in excess of 45000 imvho...

Brighton have the ground and attributes now to sustain at the very least what we really should have been more often a decent sized Championship club, too many seasons in the lower reaches, some in the not to distant past beyond the fans control......but 2500 and 3200 averages at Gillingham 70 miles away in the bottom division shows that this area has some form of passion for football, maybe not quite as passionate as the be all and end all of the Northern teams....

Bristol City? Must be the biggest underachieving club after Albion :lolol: or is that the other way around either way we should both be better.

Bristol C, Oxford and Huddersfield were fairly big in the past, and now people consider them tinpot
Oxford were never big in the past and have always been small.

People on this thread really need to realise and fast that winning league titles and trophies does not make you a big club, winning the champions league doesn't make you a big club etc etc.

The things that make you a big club are crowds and the fan base!!!!
Winning leagues and trophies are achievements and make you successful, but not big.

Thought I saw that someone said Burnley would get 40k now if they had a bigger stadium....very very unlikely and to go from 15k top of the championship to 40k is a heck of a lot of plastics.
