I'll be there....Sort of feel true fans go through the good and bad times together

It's not quite that simple though as you have to look at fans personal circumstances, in a lot of cases getting to games can incur a lot of additional expense or hassle with travel and there comes a point when you have to weight that up against what's being served up on the pitch.

The first time we have had a night game and I have been off work, so quite looking forward to it, might be on my own by the end of the game though.

I'll be there. I sort of think that supporting a club means going, even if you're not particularly enthused to, whatever the circumstance. I reckon the attendance will be around the 23,500* mark. Wigan are unlikely to bring many given the journey and it being a tuesday night.

*This is "Official Attendance" not "at the game"

All this true fan bollocks so annoys me. I've been going to every Brighton game for 22 years but it doesn't make me any more of a fan than someone listening from home. Just means I've got a lot of free time on my hands. Football is the only sport you get people thinking just because you watch a team when they lose you are some sort of icon. Grow up people!

Missed the point. To stop going JUST because you aren't winning is Plastic. Obviously some people have more time to go to games than others and it doesn't necessarily make them more of a fan than those that followed it religiously on teletext...

Will be announced as 23,000ish but the number of people there will be less than the lucky 18,000 who witnessed the Vicente show against Derby in the first season at the Amex.

You missed my point. People put a lot of their time into watching the team they support. Some people prefer to watch them win a few games. If they pay to watch a game ( not necessarily a win) a good game and they are not getting that, they may feel there money and time is better spent on their families and watch /listen from home. Doesn't make them less of a fan. My mate who came for 22 years with me stopped coming 2 matches ago. not because he is less of a fan than me. If anything he worships The Albion more than me, but he cannot handle what he is seeing. Does that make him less of a fan? I think not!!

Agreed. Otherwise why not be a plastic and follow Chelsea etc.

Sorry but what a load of bollocks.

Just so you are aware-I only missed games Gillingham and Withdean due to being ill or on holiday. The same at The Amex. Hardly 'plastic'.

Sometimes it is easier to stay away rather than go to a game and usually the deciding factor is whether the 5 or 6 hours involved is worth the effort when half the team can't be bothered to make an effort. If that makes me a 'plastic', so be it but following The Albion since the mid 50s is hardly plastic in my eyes.

When do the schools go back? Will we still be able to use the 'well its half-term' excuse for the low turnout, or do we revert to ' well its a school night'?

Personally i struggle with this being the deciding factor as to whether fans go or not, but if you are ok with it then we have to agree to differ. We obviously all prefer to see Brighton win. I will go and watch whether we are winning or not. Regarding entertainment many people felt that the sideways passing under Garcia was dull, currently getting many more chances, but i would certainly agree its painful at times.

Did you go to Darlington on a Tuesday night during the Archer years? Or Mansfield? Or Chesterfield? If not, why not? Bloody plastics.

If I lived in Brighton, I'd probably not even think about missing a game. When I have to miss nearly half a day's work to get home, change out of a suit and then drive an hour and 15 minutes to the car park at The Amex it requires effort. As I mentioned, I rarely miss games and I don't need people like you inferring that people choosing not to attend are fair weather fans.

I applaud your efforts :clap2::clap2:, but am surprised you feel what is being served up now is so much worse than what you have attended since the mid 50's. I certainly do not regard you as a Plastic fan based on what you are saying :)
