And atheists.

I agree, but I didn't need to add it because it was part of the point of the original post to which I was responding.

Northern Hemisphere.
You really are an odd one. Someone compared the royals to a load of gangsters so I told him what I thought of him, simple as that. I made no comment about the Queen's speech so the rest of your diatribe makes any sense whatsoever.

Wonderful woman, I'm proud to have her as our monarch. God save the Queen.

With all due respect, kindly f*ck off and die.

Who's the oddball? I assume the one on NSC wishing for a user to die.

You've had loads of usernames on here, all banned for posting conspiracy theory nonsense, making anti-semitic comments, linking to neo-nazi websites. You are the epitome of oddball.

Let's not forget, you wished someone on here dead on xmas day because of your love for the Queen (someone you've never met or know), no one has mentioned conspiracy theory nonsense, making anti-semitic comments, linking to neo-nazi websites. Only you have.

Fruitcake would be a bit light for someone like you.

Just because you're having a miserable Xmas doesn't mean everyone else is. Why not cheer yourself up and draw a picture of the Queen picking flowers or something like that?

Do you mean values common to any decent human like respect, tolerance, honesty etc. or values and practices like misogyny, slavery and homophobia as can be found in the NT? I really hope you don't mean some of those good ol' OT values like incest, polygamy, rape, war etc...

Before I get shot down for taking a snipe at religious hypocrisy I know that there are many people associated with churches doing all sorts of good works and doing their bit to fill in the ever increasing gaps in social care being created by government policy and that many Christians are not quite as fundamental as a minority are, but it does frustrate me to hear this phrase "Christian values" being used as if a certain set of morals and ethics based on a Judaeo-Christian tradition is some kind of badge of honour that elevates the owner above anyone else of any other persuasion.

Being a decent person does not require a faith in Jesus. Only a few people who do not have a faith in Jesus are fundamentally bad people. Many essentially good people do some bad things or make mistakes that have bad consequences from time to time. There are plenty of examples of individuals professing a Christian faith who have and continue to do some pretty horrendous things.

Most of the decent stuff attributed to Jesus is plain old common sense and humanity found throughout our wide world as far as I am concerned.

I attributed them to good Christian values as the Queen herself did without mention of other faiths. This is in stark contrast to the multiculturalism that she has often displayed in recent years and also we have to suffer from the media on a daily basis.

At the risk of stating the obvious, I never took your advice when you were posting anti-semitic truther nonsense as The Truth, Hybrid_X or any of your other banned incarnations so I'm unlikely to start now.

Merry Xmas Buzzer. Hope you had a lovely time and here's to a happy new year!

Also, out of good will, I thought I'd finish our lengthily feud by presenting you with a xmas gift:

Merry Xmas

PS You forgot to mention Rosa the Spanish lady and also Brunswick. No harm done.

But why are positive traits like compassion, respect, tolerance and so on supposedly the preserve of Christianity? In my experience they are simply part of human nature and practised by people of all nations, cultures, creeds and world views. Jesus didn't come up with anything so ground breaking that it could only be worked out by someone with divine parentage.

Even Hollywood gave Bill and Ted the wisdom of "be excellent to each other".

I would also suggest that it wasn't actually until people gave up trying to meet the Bible's code on morality and ethics from the 60s onwards that we started making real advances in the areas of equality and acceptance of diversity. Those people 150+ years ago that baulked against the exploitation of people in the workplace here and across the highly unequal British empire, pushing charitable works and the like were actually the anti-establishment figures of their time. Jesus may have demonstrated compassion for people considered the lowest of the low like prostitutes and tax collectors but somehow that failed to prevent supposedly solid Christian stalwarts from fomenting some of the most heinous crimes against humanity over the past 2000 years.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Nice, subtle, nod to her ancestry there
I never was any good at languges  However...

Gott schütze unsere gnädige Königin !
Es lebe unsere edle Königin !
Gott schütze die Königin !
Senden sie siegreich,
glücklich und ruhmvoll,
lange zu regieren über uns:
Gott retten Königin !

O Herr , unser Gott entstehen,
Scatter ihre Feinde,
und sie fallen lassen :
ihre Politik Confound,
Frustrieren ihre knavish [24] Tricks,
über dich setzen wir unsere Hoffnungen:
Gott schütze uns alle.

Thy erlesensten Gaben im Speicher,
auf sie freuen zu gießen;
Lange kann sie regieren:
Kann sie unsere Gesetze zu verteidigen,
und je geben uns Anlass,
mit Herz und Stimme zu singen,
Gott retten Königin !

Schützen is the correct verb, to shelter, protect etc. But Gott is third person singular so the conjugation should be schützt i.e. Gott schützt unsure gnädige Königin.....I think.

I'm sitting in the hotel terrace with a pot of tea looking out across the channel with a few hours to spare....I'm going to work through this translation as I need to do some homework and this is making me smile.

Here's my stab at it.

To be fair, I think there's an irony in your point that I've highlighted (good post btw).

I've come across a fair few Christians that get a little bit fed up of other, non-Christians if you like, who delight in watching their every move like a hawk and then quickly criticise any words or actions that don't meet the so called 'Christian values'. It's seems to be these particular non - Christians that want to pin the badge of honour on the Christian and elevate it's unfortunate wearer above others, just so they can continually knock them down again.

Any Christian worth his or her sort I believe doesn't actively seek to pin on such a badge of honour as they are all too well aware of all our human frailties. In fact, it's a central tenet of Christian faith that we're all sinners anyway isn't it.

Indeed, we live in a strange world where HM The Queen spouts Christian values of helping and supporting each other and is praised for it,yet, if you are Jeremy Corbyn and you espouse support for poor people, the homeless and refugees you are slated. Merry Christmas!
