Haven't been really following this saga but the post above says Gus turned down an offer? So does that mean that Gus wants to stay?

eh...you've quoted six managers that got there teams promoted..care to mention the other lot apart from poyet that didnt...are you suggesting that the 2011/12 season was a failure?

No he would want his remaining four years paid off which you are entitled to seeing as we have given him a contract for this length of time.

I could have sworn that Brendan Rodgers was managing Liverpool last season. But if he got them promoted as well as finishing in the top half of the Premier League, then fair play to him, he's much better than Poyet.

That's a lot of money to pay up. So what happens then if the club are unwilling to meet his demands, can the club order him back to manage the team.

Far from it, but suggestions that it'll be all doom and gloom on the management front post-Poyet is a load of bollogs. We should be embracing it. Plus ca change.

I agree to an extent but I think the time this has gone on (not that I'm blaming either side particularly) means that it is going to be difficult for any new manager to hit the ground running, even if they are appointed this week.

It also depends who we go for. If we appoint some of the names on the list, I would really despair. Someone like Oscar Garcia Junyent may take time to settle in but I think would be a good appointment. The key is we need to be patient this season and maybe accept that we are less likely to finish in the play offs (obviously hope I'm wrong).
