Gus Poyet has emerged as the stand-out contender to be named Albion's new manager.
The Argus understands the former Tottenham No. 2 will be in place for Sunday's south coast derby at Southampton, when the Uruguyan celebrates his 42nd birthday.
Poyet impressed chairman Tony Bloom when he was interviewed yesterday.
Ex-Albion loan signing Steve Cotterill was also interviewed.
Poyet had an illustrious playing career as a midfielder for Chelsea, Spurs and his country.
He was Dennis Wise's second in command at both Swindon and Leeds and assistant manager to Juande Ramos at Spurs.
Hope this is the case, but how many more picks is this prick naylor going to have? the lead in this mornings argus is the southend man now this on the web!!
