Same with me

Saw Doctors due on about 7.30
Pogues about 9.30 finish at 11.00

Going to be a great night, 2 top bands!

Talking about the Pogues I first saw them back in 1987 supporting U2 at Wembley Stadium, then after that at Brixton and a few months later at the Brighton Centre, what a great band, lets hope Mr McGowan is in form! He was nealry 20 years ago!

Excellent gig to go to, saw them at Brixton Christmas before last.

They've just re-released the remastered version of 'Rum, Sodomy and the Lash' (imho the greatest album ever made) with six added bonus tracks (Paddy Garcia, London Girl, Rainy Night in Soho, Body of an American....) and it's only £5 in FOPP - 18 flawless tracks for a fiver!! You'd be mad not too.

Funny that, I saw that in the shops the other day. I mention its odd because my years-old, non-remastered copy of said album has Paddy Garcia on it. Seems this is the case with all the remastered Pogues cd's...

Tuesday night in Brixton for me...no Saw Doctors though, no idea why they don't do the London shows.

Saw Doctors are just doing 3 gigs with The Pogues (Birmingham last night, Glasgow tonight and Manchester tomorrow) They Saw Doctors have just finished there own tour, they played London on Saturday night when we were playing Cheltenham!

Just been looking at the reviews of the Birmingham gig and by all accounts the sound was dire. Saw Doctors played an hour and the Pogues just a bit longer. Quite a few people moaning that you couldnt understand McGowans mumblings and that he was too drunk to sing, not sure what they expected really!

Seeing them at Brixton on Sunday

Re the support act choice. It depends on the promoters. Pogues had no choice about Sawdoctors . For Brixton, Glasgow an dLondon they could choose themselves.

The Pogues website is pretty good. The live reviews have been very positive especially Glasgow and Birmingham

Way out west
Shane McGowan is probably one of the greatest musical geniuses that I can remember, people will probably only realise how good he was when his liver is finally pickled and he shuffles off his mortal coil.

I am only hoping they don't try to cremate him...it would make Buncefield look like a small bonfire...

Were the saw doctors any good. They were huge here about 15 or so years ago. I used to love her and N17 were their biggest hits. Good old galway lads
