With all the talk of Potter going to Chelsea got me thinking. Has a Brighton manager ever left/ been headhunted to/by a team that is higher up in the table than Brighton???

Have you checked the league table recently?

Steve Coppell, Brian Horton and Micky Adams (as an assistant) for a kick off

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

Several times. Steve Coppell lo Reading being the most recent I think. Those of us with longer memories still recall Freddie Goodwin going to Leicester! (And of course Clough to Leeds followed by Taylor to join up with him at Forest).

EDIT: Yes, thanks Icy, I'd forgotten Adams and Horton!

The more interesting, and difficult, question is ' who has ever left us voluntarily for a club that was in a currently LOWER position in the same league hierarchy?
