I was thinking about this earlier, whilst I believe Potter improved us tactically on the pitch almost immediately and has continued to do so, three years on I really believe we’re starting to see the benefit of this side of his coaching.
We have a really mature and intelligent group of players now and they’ve all improved or are improving this side of their game under him dramatically which I believe is a huge reason for our consistent excellent form these days.
It was Trossard I was particularly thinking of, he seems so mature and quick thinking on the pitch these days, far more so than when he first joined. He’s not alone though the whole team have improved in this area, even those already more experienced like Dunk, Gross, Welbeck and Lallana. Cucurella did throughout last season, Bissouma did over 3 seasons, Mac Allister is making huge strides, March continues to do so.
He obviously did similar in Sweden in his time there but it is great to see first hand with our squad.
