Im going to withhold judgement until later on in the season - it could be luck, it could be skill but we haven’t seen enough results to know - we need to see the other leg of sons of these games at a minimum.

I am enjoying it though 😂
The signs are looking good though aren't they?

If we can get points from the lower low-block teams I think I may start to get a little excited.

Especially if/When Ferguson starts firing.

What was fortunate about Utd? Offside is offside.
Everyone I have told this to thinks I’m wrong so I may as well open myself up to the ridicule of everyone on NSC as well but I think the rain was so heavy that it made the game a bit of a free for all

I make us 6 points up on last season from the equivalent fixtures (swapping Ipswich for Sheffield United) and only 1 point down on the season we qualified for Europe. Very promising start.

I think we've been lucky in some games. Man U, Newcastle

But maybe a little unlucky in some, Arsenal, Forest, Ipswich

We've also been "unlucky" to have two of our best players crocked by thugs and we currently have more out injured than anyone else in the league

Luck has played a part in where we are, for good or ill. But it's early days. Things will even themselves out

So far we have beaten Man U, Spurs, and Newcastle, drawn against Arsenal and only lost to Chelsea (from which FH clearly made changes as a result). Games we would normally expect to win and historically we tend to lose we have won or drawn. It can't all be down to luck. From the top down we have a fantastically run club and FH is yet another amazing signing. Possession doesn't win games, of all the teams in the PL that should be glaringly obvious to us. As you said Hurzeler has the team digging in and supporting each other, we have centre-backs taking shots and forwards defending. Just because a player gets into a scoring position doesn't mean it was luck that they didn't score, if this was the case scorelines would be much much higher. I think what we are seeing is the exact opposite of what the pundits were worried about. We have a young manager who rather than dictate, has brought the squad together and they are all working on his ideas together.
I find it fascinating that for Hürzeler (more than any other manager in recent memory), being "lucky" seems to be a go-to for many fans. He's lucky he has the squad he does, he's lucky that he didn't have the same injuries RDZ had, he's lucky Rice was sent off, he's lucky Zirkzee was offside, he's lucky that Isak didn't score and lucky that Welbeck took his only chance and he we should all look at the ONLY GAME he lost as proof that when his luck runs out, he'll be seen to be the fraud he is.

Forget the fact that he's unlucky we didn't beat Forest and Ipswich, unlucky we've had two very soft pens given (Chelsea/Forest), unlucky that Pedro has basically been out for most of the season (as as O'Reily and Weiffer) etc etc doesn't seem to play into the narrative

Regardless of the debate about whether he is lucky or not, I for one as a matter of principle would be delighted if TB and Starlizard have found us a lucky manager! A lucky manager is a good thing to have!
