Arse, now I look a dick.

You can compose a long reply and be told it can't be posted because of this ridiculous time delay, then you'd better pray the back button works properly otherwise you'll lose your entire message.

So if we keep protesting until approximately 1am on Saturday morning, we'll have it back to its original 30 seconds, just in time for Saturday evenings inevitable 'Kerry Mayo - Why?'debate!

Its a small price to pay WW.
I'm making my own virtual placard right now, and will shortly be staging a SIT IN protest on my own driveway, and to HELL with the consequences.

We need LETTERS. Who can we write to to show how disillusioned we are with this decision? Prescott?
Well I would, but unfortunately I can't post the letter for another 119 seconds. I'm afraid that by then I will be slumped across my keyboard in a drunken stupour, and will probably have forgotten about it by the morning.

Tch.

Isn't doing that itself being a bit childish? (And thus somewhat hypocritical?)

Anyway, if you maintain any form of consistency, all hell's going to break loose when school kicks out tomorrow!

(and the forum will probably die at some point, as everyone gets pissed off with it)

Yellow Cards (handed out for posting polls about ANIMALS? please!)

Seems to be getting a bit 'power crazy'!

You single me out, yet today (by my own admission) i've posted on one 'shit' thread (which, incidently, hasn't been moved to Childish Ramblings), i've posted two threads about the football (the primary purpose of this forum?!), one asking about original posters of NSC, and asked one GENUINE question about Vera Duckworth (it's one of the nations most popular soaps, and it's relatively topical seeing as there is already a thread about Betty!).

Now, one crap thread can easily be moved to the Ramblings if you're THAT annoyed with it. But what about all the other 'shit threads'? And all this 'flouncing' bollocks. Surely you can't be annoyed at everyone who posts in the 'shit threads'? Or you'd be annoyed at pretty much the whole forum!?

Yeh, i've probably made 50 posts today. But that's what happens when I've got the day off, with only PC based work to do. But slowing the board down, just to keep me (and a few others) quiet, overall, is going to be more damaging to NSC than it is beneficial. It's only really one user who is CONSISTENTLY criticised by MOST for poor postings (not me).

Does a freak couple of days really mean that NSC needs changing so much?

WW if you dont like the rules of the game , dont play

Right, again, let's assume there is a population of NSC users that I don't like. There aren't as far as I'm aware, but I'll continue this playround style analogy for now.

How do any of those things you list above stop these people I don't like posting, which is what you're claiming this is about?

Childish ramblings - allows the ultra-childish threads to be moved somewhere for those interested to carry on, away from the eyes of those that may otherwise get irritated. No-one is denied the ability to post, either to that forum or the main one.

Moderating decisions - posts and users have been moderated since day 1 on NSC, as any other messageboard. Largely, however, the black art of moderating is invisible to many. In order to try and be more transparent we created that forum so people could see why any course of action concerned and, if they so desired, contact the relevant moderator for further info. Before that I would often get emails or PMs from people asking why something had happened. Generally, as I hadn't actually performed the moderating, I would have no idea. Now users are able to go directly to the the most relevant person. Note: the fact this forum exists does not mean any more or any less moderating takes place, it just means that moderating is more visible.

Yellow Cards do not actually stop people posting on NSC, but they do stop people posting new threads. They were introduced as often problematic users spam the board. An outright posting ban can be too draconian, so the yellow card concept allows a halfway house. With this being the case, the yellow card allows users to post where previously they wouldn't. It is also worth pointing out the yellow card has been around for a long time - perhaps your awareness of it has only been raised by the fact you are now able to read about it being issued.

You failed to understand the reason for the specific yellow card example you quote when it was issued, so it seems worthless to go through it again. Needless to say the fact that the polls were about animals was not the reason.

I can see what you mean, but 2 minutes is a bit extreme - maybe a minute is better? I know that i get caught with the 30 second one every once in a while.

Imagine having to wait 2 minutes after every time you said something for real. I bet you'd explode! :lolol:

Unless I'm reading it wrong isn't it only two minutes BETWEEN YOUR OWN POSTS? How can people possibly make more than one post every two minutes?

Make it three minutes.

I never post shite. I am often concise, and to the point (and never wrong, and screw you if you don't believe that).

I am also a quick thinking, fast typist.

It's punishing people like me, keeping all the class in after school because of the bad behaviour of the few.

Bozza, I think you should simply get a little involved with the overseeing of the posts/threads/members, and occasionally levy brief bans on people who are totally out of line, immature (by average board standard) or disruptive (i.e. bullshitters that just post attention seeking bollocks).

The point is, this 2 minute thing is just you being lazy, and it's bugging The NMH
???
