Port Vale boss Brian Horton ripped into his team after seeing them slump to a 1-0 friendly defeat at the hands of non-league Hednesford Town.
"The final thing in the last third was shocking," Horton told the club's website. "I hope the players feel as disappointed as I do, because I am.
"We should be well capable of winning even with all the kids on."
Vale will look to get the Hednesford disappointment out of their system when they face Crewe at home in their next pre-season friendly on Sunday.
