popularity/interest of hooligan thread?

It was is quite a worry that a thread regarding unsavoury behaviour attracted 17,000 views yesterday, but when posting about football development and youth football it only attracts a handful of contributors.Although we seem to have a hard core socialist real ale type poster we must also attract a huge number that find the hooligan element very interesting.
I would hate to feel that this group were feeding off nsc to fuel the new wave of foot soldier???

Why is it worrying?

People have, and always will be interested in violence.

It's just the way we are.

Hahaha you honestly think any self respecting lad would use this forum to recruit 'foot soldiers.' Jesus wept...

Listen your slaaaagggs. Lots of people look up to the likes of myself, Armadillo Andy, Big Vern, Scratchcard and Uncle Morty as role models and THAT is why people look at our threads, it's a form of respect. Remember, when we were in our heyday you could walk the streets at night safely, old ladies were happy to cross the road, NO kiddie fiddlers and you could leave your back doors open without worrying (except in Kemp Town).

We might have had a sherbert or two before a match, get involved in a bit of LAIRYNESS, but we were feared the length and breadth of my imagination. It was top boy on top boy, but Big Vern went TWENTY SIX games of PacMan undefeated in 1979-80, beating all that Spurs, Arsenal, the Bindippers and the Mancs had to offer. He even managed to turn over Villa's legendary David Davidson (known as 'Dave' to those ITK) over a best of three at Missile Command despite having drunk two bottles of Tizer and having a rectal prolapse the previous evening after THREE Grubb's chill burgers.

That's why the pups of today still nod in our direction, and even the local OB part like the waves before Moses when we come a calling into their town.

Alright?

Hardly surprising, threads like that prompt interest as people want to know what went on. It does not mean they support violence

but why would a football forum have more interest in fighting than the topic of football?

There's not more interest - there are thousands of threads, views and posts on football threads - and just a few in comparision related to violence.

Maybe people want to read threads that aren't about Palace.

Rev, as much as I agree with the sentiments, us being old gits nowadays and all, those sort of threads are always going to attract more attention.

It's a bit like driving down a road and seeing a car parked at the side, you don't give it a second glance, if however the car has steam coming out the bonnet and a crumpled front end you have a look.

Human nature innit.
