Popestake (Heretics only!)

Ok it is in bad taste (apologies to the easily offended), but having just roped in another 12 people in the office on a quid in the pot winner takes all 'What time and on which day with the Pope cark it?' sweepstake, I thought the more twisted NSC members may like an online just for fun version.

I'll start, I reckon Popey boy will see whether his lifes work was worth it at 3.15 am tomorrow (GMT!)

Anyone else?

As a Catholic I should find this highly offensive (I happen to think the Popes an alright geezer) ...... but I don't so Sunday 06:25 GMT for me.

He will probably stay up longer than palace so I reckon he has got a good few minutes left. If he is not dead already then it will be 17:06

I would be inclined to change all of your predictions. I don't think this man is going anywhere for a while yet ......

Pope John Paul II, who continues to be seriously ill at this Vatican apartment, has approved several new Church appointments this afternoon.

A Vatican statement said the pope had appointed 17 new bishops and archbishops, and accepted the resignation of six others.

Earlier today, the Vatican said the 84-year-old pontiff was in a serious but stable condition after suffering heart failure and breathing problems.

In the latest statement on the Pope's deteriorating health, the Vatican spokesman, Joaquin Navarro-Valls, said the Pope was stable and had received his closest advisors in separate meetings at his bedside.

It emerged earlier that the Pope had suffered heart failure during the night and had received the last rites, underlining the seriousness of his condition.

The Vatican earlier dismissed media reports that Pope John Paul has fallen into a coma as 'absolute rubbish'.

You didn't get any of this diving and simulating in the old days. He'll be up, right as rain, as soon as the great referee in the sky looks like he's about to restart the game. :dunce:
