Dragged along to Zimbabwe on a tour that nobody agrees with and he's not getting a place AND England are playing like NUMPTIES.

126/5 off 36 overs.

Well done lads.

The players have been affected by the situation (apparently) so I would'nt be surprised if they are not 100% focused and just want to get out of there.

There were 3 demonstrators outside the hotel calling for the release of political prisoners by the Zimbabwe Govt.

I dont think we should be there anyway.

The Government could have stopped them going but chose not to, the cricket board wanted the money and forced them to go. They should get out for 0 and and resume playing in Soth Africa.

Prior will get his chance in 1 of the next 2 games. There was a comment that everyone on the touring party will get a game.

Having seen Jones get 60 odd at better than a run a ball you can't argue with his inclusion ahead of Prior.

And Pieterson looks to be the real deal - lets just hope his rumoured arrogance doesn't upset people like it is rumoured to have done at Notts.

I think the problem with these tours is that fringe players end up going because others chose not to. This makes the fringe player think they are in with a shout and puts enormous pressure on them to go and play despite what they might think about the political situation because they see it as their chance to impress.

The Govt or Governing bodu of cricket should not have allowed this tour.

Prior is there as an opening batsmen though. With his inclusion our close fielding would be the best in the world with Vaughan, Collingwood, Solanki, Prior and Strauss hovering about.

A record stand for England's sixth-wicket propelled them to 263-6 in the second one-dayer against Zimbabwe.

Kevin Pietersen and Geraint Jones added 120 runs in 85 balls after the visitors had slumped to 121-5 in the 35th over.

England started badly in Harare when Tinashe Panyangara (3-61) ousted Ian Bell and Michael Vaughan cheaply.

Three quick wickets in mid-innings had England in real trouble, but Pietersen (77 not out off 76 balls) and Jones (66 off 46 balls) fought back valiantly.

Meanwhile, in Harare, Aex Wharf is taking apart the Zimbabwe top order.

3 wickets in 3 overs for 9 runs.

How you can include Vaughan in your comment about great fielders is beyond me - he is Sunday league cricket fielder at best - I would be embarrassed by some of the dropped catches he has done. On the other hand, the other four are class.
