4. Anyone voting for 6 or more is bonkers. Or didn't see us play at Brentford.

7 points - two wins, a draw and three defeats.
And very likely not the games you might expect.

Anything between 3 and 12 is as likely as anything else between 3 and 12 in my opinion. Man city home and Liverpool away was 6 points last season that no one would have predicted, Leicester have been the toughest of those fixtures for us to get points from since coming up, even though we have looked the better side in some of the games. Are you just predicting what the relegation tracker says we need to stay up?

Spurs were a total shambles v Palace and even then they needed a sending off to make the difference, up until then BBC Sport had described it as a match totally lacking in any quality. The perfect time for a bottom half side to play a top 6 side is at home in the Saturday 12.30 match immediately following a long international break (3 matches were played instead of the usual 2).

I’m delighted for their fans that the new manager is looking to play expansive football after the utter bilge served up last season (that’s from one of their own fans I know) but if Palace want to actually come out and play football against us this time then I’m having an away win.

Would be how it would look on paper. We all know it never works out like that, but I voted 5 points and would be happy enough with that. Keeps us well on track. It would be nice to at least be competitive against the better sides. A lot better than we were against Everton!

If that's the case then looking at the poll results so far would suggest there are many more bonkers people on here than sane ones .I would prefer to be called optimistic personally but i concede that your knowledge of people on NSC is much greater than mine and you are probably right ( love the tracker by the way )

Near Dorchester, Dorset
Solly back and Cucurella as competition
Hopefully Lamptey back.
Moder rapidly becoming this season's BW.
Tross clearly benefiting from the confidence his Belgian games have given him.
This team will get better after having already picked up 9 from 12.
Harder run of games, but improving team.
But I've supported Albion for a long time, so went 5 points.

I left the Amex after the Everton game with the knowledge that we are a long way short of the level we finished last season with.
We have struggled in 3of our 4 games and yet I still find myself voting for 7 points!!

Ever the optimist.

Voted for 11 points as I'm ever so slightly bonkers.
Just have to add, this is the most confident I have been in our team since the first GP was at the helm, that said he was more the manager and seemed to have more control over signings than it appears our current GP has.
As Graham has stated he is employed as coach and subsequently the recruitment is more a cooperative with only Tony Bloom having the final financial say on whom we sign which in my opinion is the correct way to operate.

With regards to why I feel confident, the recruitment team with the coach, are assembling a very strong playing staff with the correct balance of youth and experience. All the players are playing for the coach and seem to have bought in to his ethos, most notably is the resurgence of Shane Duffy and hopefully Jurgen Locadia will follow suit when he gets his opportunity, this alongside really exciting prospects including Hayden Roberts, Taylor Richards, and the numerous other young prospects at the club and also those out on loan for experience.
The team have a plan and appear to want to perform at their highest level possible not only for their own futures within the game but for the good of their current club and team. These are exciting times and I am certainly enjoying the ride. Long may it continue.
11 points 'pah' could even be 18, did I mention I was bonkers ?

Reflected overnight about giraffe's post no 64 and the possible way in which how you vote says something about you and came up with my own interpretation :-
0 very pessimistic / fishing
1 pessimistic / but surely hoping for more
2,3,4 realistic / sanguine,accepts ones fate
5,6,7 optimistic / looking on the bright side
8,9,10 very optimistic / glass def half full
11,12,13 extremely optimistic / ever hopeful
14,15,16 wildly optimistic / bordering on lunacy
18 what are you taking ? / fishing

It will be very interesting to see how this pans out .Hopefully we can return to this later
I voted for 7 thinking along the lines of a likely win, a lucky win and one draw

I went for 8:

Leicester H - draw. Hard fought, could have gone either way, but a late equaliser squares it.
Palace A - win. Driven by seeking revenge for that travesty last season.
Arsenal H - draw. We're in the game for the most part, but get a little sloppy at times and they punish us.
Norwich A - win. We dominate.
Man City H - loss. We're in it, but Pep is not taking us for granted and their quality shows through.
Liverpool A - loss. Ditto, except Klopp.

We took 8 from these fixtures last year, with 6 of those coming from City and Liverpool :lolol:

I'm still going for 8 though, wins against Palace and Norwich and two draws against any of the other 4 is a superb set of results. It would also put us at 17 points, halfway to safety with only 10 games played.
