Adam Webster was on a podcast I listen to last week, I'll try and dig out the link but it was pretty decent. He speaks very well I thought

The Sink: A Sleep Aid
A short weekly fiction podcast, that is hard to describe. It's humorous and creepy and surreal. Two episodes out so far. The hook is that it is a dreamscape, someone (I don't know if there is a character, or if it's meant to be the listener) is having their dreams downloaded and played back, so there is a lot of jumping from WTF? scene to WTF? scene and things not making a lot of sense with a hint that it's all going to come together to mean something eventually.

The Sink: A Sleep Aid

Podcasts are my sleep aid!!

Go to bed.
Tune in.
Sleep.

On my commute in the morning I can trace back to the exact time I went to sleep.
As a rule it's between 7 and 10 minutes!

I'm not gloating though as I'm normally wide awake again, from about 2am on wards.

I've been a good boy for a few weeks but I can't not bring this too the masses.

This week's Rewatchables is:-

View attachment 129615

Despite the subject matter I find this (and most police/press procedural) film absolutely captivating.

I'm listening now and am halfway through this deep dive into the film.
The panel are two and a half Bostonians who were right there as it landed.

I strongly commend this too the house.

Thanks, an excellent suggestion.

For a variation on a theme I commend All the right Movies

https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podca...-a-movie-podcast/id1471502633?i=1000464209218

This episode is for Predator [one of my favourite ever films] - these guys do excellent summaries that double as perfect reviews of classic films segued by fascinating trivia that film geeks like me will love.

Also whilst I’m here:

Two hundred percent Pod.

Fantastic journey through random football related subjects. Written and presented by two regular contributors to When Saturday Comes Ian Carter and Edward King if you like WSC then you’ll love 200 % Pod.

They have a fantastic back catalogue and more recently focussed on special subject dedicated series. The current one being the history of the non league game.

Can’t recommend enough.

Thanks, an excellent suggestion.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I freakin well love The Rewatchables - as my droning on about it here, proves.

As part of his $300 million sale of 'The Ringer' Podcast network Bill's moved the back catalogue to Spotify, so that makes it a little tougher to catch the stand out episodes.

For me that's Jaws, Heat (the second time around) Spotlight, Point Break & Ferris Bueller.

That said there isn't a duff episode.

Sean Fennessey and Chris Ryan seem get the strongest films.

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned already.

If you're a listener to Football Weekly 20 or so minutes in Barney Ronay gives his thoughts on Manchester United.

It's a quite fantastic take down of them and us, as consumers of football.

Vulture have published their Top 10 podcasts of 2020.

You’re Wrong About - looks interesting

You’re Wrong About is a sneaky phenomenon. It’s a show that you keep around as a sort of secret, only to look up not long after to hear everybody else positively humming about it. Hosted by Michael Hobbes and Sarah Marshall, You’re Wrong About can be broadly sorted within the well-populated “let’s take a well known thing and challenge your perspective on it” genre of podcast, but what makes it stand out is its distinct combination of fluid chemistry and a fiercely empathetic point of view. Whether it’s the 2000 election, the saga of Princess Diana, or the D.C. sniper, each subject is tackled by Marshall and Hobbes with remarkable thoughtfulness and a sharp eye on the critical structures that harm us. You’re Wrong About has been around since 2018, but it’s become a thing over the past year and deservedly so: It’s the kind of podcast that people who love podcasts can’t get enough of.

Obviously of the 120 odd podcast many have an American slant.
They look like fans of 'True Crime' will get a lot out of it.
I think I'll be starting with The Godfather, although ep 83 is must listen as it's about Gary Hart..,

...oh not our one.

I've just listened to this, and thought it was excellent.
Loads of insight into professional gambling and seeing numbers.
Anything like this just instantly has be thinking 'That's how Uncle Tony's brain works'.

‘Gamblers,’ Episode 1: Hole Cards, a Whole Lot of Cash, and the Belle of the Blackjack Ball
In the debut episode of The Ringer’s new six-part anthology series, ‘Gamblers,’ we meet Gina Fiore, a single mom who made millions beating casinos at their own games

For something a bit different how about "Wing Of Change" podcast. The premise is that the titular Scorpions song was actually written by the C.I.A. and part of a PsyOps/cultural infiltration mission to accelerate the collapse of the Soviet Union. Thoroughly entertaining and it gave me an insight/ greater understanding of how people get sucked into conspiracy theories ... or did it?

Wikipedia has 'Wing Of Change' as one of only 14 singles to have sold over 15million physical copies EVER.

I've spent the last couple of weeks binging on screen drafts, which I think was mentioned earlier in this thread. Have now moved on to 'this had oscar buzz' where they look at movies that had oscar buzz but didn't get even nominated. Just starting my first listen so I don't know how it will go...

Apologies for a bit of self promotion but if you fast forward through the DULLARD content there's an interview on today's Price of Football with Dean Hammond. He talks candidly about life when you hang up your boots, how he's made some bad investment decisions, the lack of identity when you hang up your boots ("ex-footballer" on a passport or introducing yourself at a party isn't quite right) and a bit more. He was very open on the show and well worth a listen, unlike the rest of the podcast, which is two old blokes moaning a lot.

Last night I dipped my toe into the 21st century and paid £8 to watch The Socially Distant Sports Bar podcast on dice.FM.

It's 3 Welsh chaps interrupting talking shite with occasional mentions of sport, sporting Youtube clips and discussing a sports documentary.

Despite being a fan of Elis James unfortunately this side venture rather passed me by, until Barry Glendenning recently sent me their way.
It's glorious and so funny.

For last night's live performance they commissioned one of their favourite anecdotes to be animated.
If this isn't funny, then this pod really isn't for you.

Me too. Only just found this myself via that YouTube clip. Most amusing.
