Playstation 3

I went out to buy a Playstation 2 for the kids the other day only to be told the new Playstation 3 was coming out soon. Anyone know anything about it or how much it is likely to cost ?

Is it worth waiting for, or is Playstation 2 good enough ?

PS3 is ages away, they probably mean the PSX which is like a PS2.5 or something!

There's a new slimline playstation 2 coming out. The the PSX which is a PS2 with a hard disk and thne the PS3 will follow.

The PS3 is not even being shown publicly until May next year.

It might (maybe, possibly) be launched in Japan next Christmas, which would mean a spring 2006 launch in Europe at the earliest.

Sony will be busy pushing the portable PSP next year.

The PSX (PS2/TV recorder) is a donkey. Wouldn't bet on it coming out here at all.

Duff info from Toys R Us then. They told me to go back there at the end october and reserve a PS3 which will be out in November !!!!!

I'll stick to a PS 2 then I think.:

They're referring to the new, slimline PS2.

Same price, but cheaper construction and flip-top lid.

Only advantage - if you can call it that - is the built-in ethernet port for broadband gaming.
