Every England player that played any part in the WC bar Ashley Cole, David James and James Milner.

The rest can die for all I care.

anyone over the age of 27 is highly unlikely to play in the next world cup so get rid

Gerrard
Terry
Upson
Lampard

Start building for the next world cup. This lot have had their chance and f***ed it up. Capello and Pearce can do one as well.

Rooney has been sluggish every game and his first touch has been woeful.

Unfit or uncaring? You decide.

realistically the following should retire (to allow us to build for the future)or never be picked again because they are gash
James, Lampard, Heskey, carrager

I would like to see Stuart Pearce take over, bringing through Richards, Rodwell, Johnson, Walcott, Young and Wilshere

Calm down dear. Its only a football forum.

(I forgot you were a Man U fan)

In other words, you've just realised you're being a pillock. Good one.

The ONLY player who should retire is James.

Sadly, the rest of them are the best the country has got to offer below the age of 30, so retiring would be pointless.

Stuart Pearce?

Who's his number two, David Platt?

John Terry. Backs to the wall stuff, but was dire in the world cup. Positionally, he got found out. If him and Upson are the best we have as center-backs, then we really are scrapping the barrel.

Honestly - international standard players ???
Goalkeeper - James (he did OK, but he's earnt the nickname calamity for something)
Right back - No
Center halfs - No
Left back - Yes
R Mid - Lennon/Milner. No, although Milner is one for the future (hmm, heard that before though).
Center - Lampard - no. Barry, not match fit IMO.
Left - Joe Cole (yes).
Forwards/Attack midfield. Gerrard yes, Rooney - well, on this showing, big questions.#

Overall, in four games against weaker teams, we weren't very good. This just keeps on happening; it's not bad luck, it's ability/quality.

Was he dire in the World Cup? No.

He had one DREADFUL game, but in the other 3 games the only goal was due to a keeper howler.

Jesus Christ, some people need to get some perspective.

The problem is the hype - it's undeserved. There's some good players in the England team, but that's it. There are no World Class players. None. John Terry is a good defender. But he's not the best in the world.

edit: oh, and our best centre half is injured, hence we were "scraping the barrel"

How about for every player you name, you name their replacement?

And therein lies the problem. Unless the premiership starts limiting foreign players we are going to be stuck with the same shite. The next England manager may have to start looking at championship players.

In the other games, there were loads of mis-placed passes by the back-three (I exclude Cole from this). This led to opportunities which the other teams weren't ggo enough to exploit. However, against a team that are semi-decent (no, I don't think the Germans looked that good), they were found out. That first goal was absolutely pathetic.
