He was very, very good for us - looked like a top player. I looked him up too and see he scored a goal every two games in the First Division. Reading between the lines, he had a problem with booze (his weight was probably a hint) but he had genuine class.

So he did - how times have changed - 2 years at Arsenal, several more playing at high level - He would have earned millions if he had been playing today and I doubt looking for a job as a traffic warden in his mid-fifties!
