It must be a bit of a weird dynamic. The geek in me would be interested in how they bring in new players and build trust. I can't imagine what my work would be like if we had 10 months of incredibly intense, public highs and lows, then a month off during which it was all change.

"Morning, Yves from accounts has joined Hotspur Inc, one of our competitors. He was important last year in getting us through regulatory compliance but we've got that young guy who has just qualified and we think he'll be OK with a bit more training, we'll just need someone to mentor him for the first few months and make sure he's on top of things. No leaving drinks for Yves although we all liked him we're now going to work hard to make him regret his decision and wish he'd stayed here. And remember, when we come up against Hotspur Inc in the charity football match make sure Yves is the only one on their team who ever shoots then we'll not have any problems. Mark is still here despite what you saw on LinkedIn, we've asked Neil to go easy on the bantz this week as we're not sure yet how he'll react. This is Denis, he's been brought in because the boss reckons he might be better at your job than you are. That's literally why he's here, not even joking. He's here to try and make you unemployed so you have to go and work elsewhere if you still want a job, probably uprooting and disrupting your whole family to some other part of the country to do so. Make sure you make him feel at home. Oh, and Florence is back from her sabbatical year in Spain, not sure what we're going to do with her just yet but make her feel welcome and don't go on too much about how well we did when she wasn't here because she's probably feeling that already."

Not surprised really. The club shop is closed for a day - Thursday? Friday? - to take delivery of a container load of Cucu wigs.

Sale or return?

And an absolutely ginormous step up from the University and Hove Park where they have trained in the fairly recent past. . . . which is even nicer.

They used to train out at Sussex Uni for quite a while. I used to go watch them train when I was younger.

I used to do that as well. Would sometimes be in the gym with some of the team too - generally anyone doing weights to recover from injury would be in there when it opened at 8am or something and sometimes the whole squad would be in taking up loads of space. Very weird looking back at where they are now to have had a professional football team doing weights and stretches around students and lecturers and us alumni but it seemed an unspoken rule to not disturb them.

Yeah I was in single digits or pre teens when I used to go up there so no sharing the gym for me. But I did get quite a lot of autographs and had a kick around with Jake Robinson after training when he was still coming through as a youngster.

Way out West
Welbz looks really happy to be back and seems to be liked and likes quite a few of the backroom staff and other players. Great to see.

Also Welbz and Tariq seem to be good mates.#

I think he'll comtinue to be a big influence if we can keep him fit and contracted here.

Any news on his new contract? Unless I'm mistaken his current deal runs out in a couple of days....

As they have both been mentioned on this thread, Adam El-Abd and Jake Robinson have both signed for newly promoted Worthing FC. (Apologies if fixtures and on another thread and all that). Should put a few on the gate. I'm looking forward to seeing the master of the dark arts at it again.

As Dale Stephens is in town, maybe El-Abd can have a get together with their Mrs's......

Whilst Jake has done well in non-league so far Adam was at Whitehawk last season and was showing his age a bit. Hardly lit the pitch up.

Something is really bothering me. Obviously Nike is our kit sponsor, but for the gym / fitness work all the players are wearing Adidas Adiboost trainers. What’s that all about
