I think Gus would have the pulling power to attract a few of these players to play in the championship for a season!! Was Poyet at chelsea at the same time as Zenden?? Wouldn't be surprised to see an experienced player like this dropping down to help an old friend out!!

I would be very interested in:
Thomas Cruise (Arsenal)
Mark Randall (Arsenal)
Isiah Osbourne (Villa)
Jason Brown (Blackburn)
Michael Woods (Chelsea)
Iain Turner (Everton)
Giles Barnes
David Jones

***Not saying they are likely to join, they might get better offers, but definitely worth a look. All of the above were rated as promising youngsters a few years ago and for various reasons have not quite made it. Maybe Gus could see their potential and take a punt.***

Much rather any of these than Zenden. Few other good young players up there too. Go get a couple Gus :)

Bolo Zenden would be an asset to any Championship club, but his wage-bill wouldn't. A great player with great attitude.

Kuqi might still have a bit of life in him.

Yeah, just the sort of player we need, a big lump up front to fit in with our slick, passing, ball-retention style.

??

Carew's not a big lump, he's very good in the air, but his link-up play is superb .

(We won't sign him, but like Jan Koller he's a misunderstood player)

Jonathon Spector would be an interesting one, I thought he did okay in some of the games I saw, can play across the back four or in midfield. Doubt his wages would be horrendous either, he'd make a good holding player behind Bridcutt and Dicker.

It's not necessarily a bad thing to have in your armoury considering the amount of crosses we'll put into the box. We won't sign Carew (he rates himself VERY highly), but I'm just saying that a big forward could come in handy... Buengo sounds as though he could be that sort of player which, if we are interested in him as people are saying, would indicate Gus feels the same way. Doesn't mean we will revert to long ball.

Totally agree, you don't win 2 La Liga titles without being able to pass and link up play.

Carew would be great but his wages would be huge, non starter I reckon.
