kuipers 6- didnt have much to do but took bloody ages taking his goal kicks
el-abd 6- still dont rate him as a RB but quite solid yesterday, long range passing has much to be desired
butters 6- solid but too slow, some things he did made him look like a grandad
lynch 7- good again, very composed defender, our best player (in general, not particularly yesterday)
rents 6- better than mayo but wasnt dealing with their RM as easily as he could.
cox 8- poor 1st half but really good 2nd, he found space crossed for 2 of the goals and got 1 himself
hammond 8- really good, good tackling, passing, good goal, just some passes he overhits when he should be taking the more simple option.
ward 7- huge improvement from saturday, good with the ball at his feet, just cant tackle or head the ball
bertin 8- again, much better...the new el-abd:jester:
gatting 7- ran his socks off but could have got more goals if he had passed in some instances
savage 8- great goal, but some times doesnt realise he actually has the ball. so much better than on saturday. has the potential to become a cult hero

elder 7- did well with his 5 minutes
fraser 7- was about to come on but FT went. at HT he was curling some beauties into the top corner, :jester:

fans 8- really good, good atmosphere, was a little scepticle on the whole "savage for england" thing...
wilkins 7- should have put on fresh legs much earlier
ref 6- another poor ref

Kuipers 7 kicking still a bit iffy, but set up 1 goal and one firm punch in the second half

Rents - 6 was getting caught out in first half by Tudor, but got noticeably tighter on him after the break which stopped the threat. Decent corners and balls up the line too.

Lynch - 8 Won his headers and put in his tackles. Couple of mazy runs too, although lost possession on one which could have caused trouble.

Butters - 8 No nonsense, won his headers and cleared everything that came at him.

El-abd - 7 Decent performance, still a bit worried with him at rb but he seems more confident on the ball and linked well with Cox

Cox - 9 Second half he really came into his own, given space and made the most of it with some top drawer crossing. Fast and pacey in the corridor that defenders hate it, deserved goal.

Bertin - 9 So calm in possession, never looks hurried and linked well with everyone. A real find.

Hammond - 10 Awesome performance. Runs the show for us and the calmness with the finish, especially on the back of such a drought was superb.

Ward - 7 Good display, nice touches but does lose the ball occasionally and not the most robust of players. Will do well in a confident midfield though.

Savage - 8 Two assists, one goal, moonwalk celebration, a new hero is born. Held the ball up very well at times, allowing players to get forward although his first touch is still sometimes woeful!

Gatting - 7 Did his job very effectively, at one stage beat 2 Orient players for a header which typified his effort. Scored and was in the box for other chances, the difference in having 2 forwards who can make the ball stick was obvious.

Elder 7 only had 5 minutes but got an assist with nice flick on - should have got his first goal with first touch though!

I think there was a slight tweak in formation at half-time last night. We seemed to be playing a 4-1-3-2 formation, with Bertin playing just in front of then back four, but with very little width - especially from Ward. This meant that Rents was very exposed against Tudor.

In the second half, we played a much more orthodox 4-4-2. Rents had support, was able to cut out Orient's main threats, and we could get a lot more possession and do more with it.
