Kuipers 5. Real screw up in the first half from which they should have scored and some dodgy kicking, but one great second half save.

O'Ceaurill 3. Poor distribution, poor ball control, and in the second half when he played LB he was awful. Gary Hart is better at RB, or ElAbd except we need him in midfield.

Butters 8. Immense again.

Lynch 8. Ditto. MOM.

Mayo 6. Their right winger gave him a tough time, but he coped a lot better than Joe in the 2nd half. Two yellows maybe justified.

Ward 5. A couple of good runs, but otherwise rather anonymous. No where close to the standard he set last week.

Bertin 6. Played very well until giving the goal away. His game then seemed to deteriorate somewhat, but a good signing.

Cox 5. A little better than last week maybe, but still way below his best.

ElAbd 8. Excellent again, both in midfield and at RB.

Robinson 5. How he needs a goal for his confidence.

Subs:
Savage 6. We played better when he came on, even with only ten men, but I'm not convinced of his ability to score goals.

Gatting 5. Not really on long enough.

Rents. Not long enough for a rating.

Fail to understand Wilkins' thinking with the line up today. What formation were we playing?? I think we should have had Savage on from the start. Strange game. They could have scored another three, but we could easily have nicked an equaliser at the end.

If Revell is back for Forest he should start up front with Bas, with Jake on the bench.

Hammond 7. Tried hard, but not everything came off.

I've been all in favour of Wilkin's line ups up to today. This formation seemed to have a Mcghee influence all over it.

for Orient I'd play

Kuipers

El Abbd Lynch Butters Rents

Ward Bertin Hammond Cox

Revell Savage

Agree with that except I don't think Revell will be ready until Forest ... in which case presumably Jakey continues up front ... or what about Harty up there?

Hammond usually plays on the left side of center, as he did today.

Savage was shocking.

His little slide towards the end where he wasn't even near the ball!

Kuipers 6 - Couple of great saves, told their fans where to go at the end

O'Ceurill 5 - Poor Distribution,not at all impressive

Lynch 5 - Couple of good tackles in the second half but quite sloppy in the first

Butters 6 - Wins all his headers, not very quick though

Mayo 2 - Cost us the game by getting sent off like a complete idiot

Ward 6 - Did ok in the time he was on

El-Abd 6 - Good tackles,nothing special though

Bertin 7 - Very impressive in the first half, linked up well with Hammond, some good touches

Hammond 7 - Captain's performance,linked up well with Bertin,played very well

Cox 6 - Got some good crosses in towards the end,not his usual pacey self though

Robinson 5 - Needs the drop.Quick and effective but missed his second sitter in two weeks

Subs:

Savage 6 - The big man did well, held the ball up well, good flick ons, horrible first touch

Rents 5 - Not enough time to make an impact

Gatting 5 - Couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat

Sorry, but if O'Can'tspellit is a better RB than OGH then I'm a former dutch marine. He was utterly awful at right back, but at left back he managed to get worse. Team for Orient:

FDM

OGH Butts Lynch Rents

Ward Bertie El Abd Hammond

Savage Robinson

Kuipers 6 - Couple of good saves, his kicking was at it's worst.

O'Cearuill 3 - Poor in almost every aspect of his game, worst game for us by far.
Lynch 8 - Top notch MOTM
Butters 5 - Pretty poor game by his standards
Mayo 5 - Struggled badly although I don't think the red was deserved.

Ward 4 - Too much posing not enough useful passing.
Bertin 5 - Decent first half although made the mistake for the goal. Poor second half.
El-Abd 6 - Not his best game, better at RB.
Hammond 6 - Tried hard.
Cox 7 - The only player who looked like doing anything going forward.

Robinson 3 - Needs benching I'm afraid. Poor touch, doesn't look a goal threat, lightweight.

Subs:
Savage 3 - Well he is certainly tall. Apart from that he has no discernible "talent". Can't judge the flight of a ball, rarely jumps, crap touch.
Rents - No real impact
Gatting 7 - When he came on we immediately looked more threatening than we had all game. Probably shouldn't have missed late on but the foul was given anyway, for some reason.

For Borient:
-----------Kuipers---------
El-Abd-Lynch-Butters-Rents
Hart-Fraser-Hammond-Cox
------Elder--Gatting-------

Sullivan
O'Cearuill
Ward
Bertin
Robinson

kuipers- 5 terrible screw up in 1st half where they should have scored, some dodgy kicks and flapped badly at one cross but a couple good saves.
o'ceaurrol- 3 started quite well but soon deteriorated, his 2nd half performance couldnt have been any worse, was gettin torn apart by all of their players
lynch -7 best player by a mile IMHO, without him couldve been alot worse
butters -4 below average, slower than usual, too easy for their attackers
mayo- 4 got torn apart by their attackers, nightmare game
ward 3- dire game, tried too many flicks which didnt work at all, too slow on the ball, not impressed
bertin 4- quite good in the 1st half except givin the ball away for their goal, turned pretty crap in 2nd half
hammond- 5 average but tried too many over-complicated balls
el-abd- 6 for commitment, the rest looked like they didnt really care
cox 6- better today but still not anythin like he should be
robinson 5- another average game, couldve scored but 0 confidence, shame he was bangin them in in the warm up

gatting 6- tried quite hard but couldnt score
bas savage 5- hasnt got the touch of a professional footballer and doesnt win enough headers
rents 6- better than the other 2 disasters at LB today

Kuipers 4 Poor display kicking was woeful and again made easy saves look good playing to the crowd, as usual.

O;Ceaurill 4 His worst performance since joing us. Have we brought him down to our level?
Butters 6 Dependable as usual.
Lynch 8 MOM superb display completely ruled the fat lump of lard Shipperley.
Mayo 2 Didnt win a tackle hence the 2 yellow cards no dispute with either of them. 2 yellows = 1 red.
Ward 5 Bit lethargic as if he didnt want to mix it.
El Abd 6 Kept going and trying.
Bertin 6 Very tidy performance did what he had to without fuss but didnt stand out.
Hammond 7 Did a lot of work withour any end result.
Cox 7 Similar to Hammond.
Robinson 4 Poor overall performance in every way.

Subs:
Savage 5 Not over impressed but is it coincidence that our best spell was while he was on.
Rents Did what was expected of him in the short while that he was on.
Gatting Should have been on earlier as we were chasing a
goal.

Dean Wilkins/White Poor use of substitutes as is becoming increasinglky apparent.

Kuipers - 5 - Dodgy kicking again. Dived away from the ball for the goal.

O'Ceaurill - 5 - NOT a left back
Lynch 7 -
Butters 7 - good game from both of these, but where the hell were they for the goal?!
Mayo - 2 - A shocker

Cox - 6- tried hard
Bertin - 5 - good first 15, lost the ball for the goal though and was absent in the second
Hammond - 7 - Tidy, tried
El Abd - 6 - better at rick back
Ward - 5 - crap

Robinson - 4 - No confidence, tired, poor

subs:

Savage - 6- caused problems

Kuipers 5 - couple of dodgy moments made the defence uneasy.

O'Cearuill 4 - if he's a future Arsenal player I'll bite off my own cock
Lynch 7 - Excellent for the second week running
Butters 6 - rarely puts a foot wrong, wish he was 10 years younger
Mayo 2 - should know better

Ward 5 - Not as impressive as last week, but promising
Bertin 6 - faded, but looks a good find
El Abd 6 - solid, industrious
Hammond 7 - looks the part these days

Cox 6 - has lost his early season zip but classy.. better deeper
Robinson 3 - needs a rest. Badly.

Barry Savage 6 - makes a difference. Shooting lacks conviction but helps others into the game
Joe Gatting 6 - not quick, but has the knack of being in the right place. Surely deserves a start with Savage, instead of being the 'target man'?
Rents - not on long enough

Robinson looks shot to pieces at the moment, maybe it's time he started on the bench again. Granted, the only chance he had was offside anyway, but did any of us, let alone him, really believe he was going to score it? When his confidence is high, he can make things happen, but for any opposing manager, it's a piece of cake to stifle him, you just stick a couple of big defenders on him and he doesn't have the size or the strength to beat them.

Cox has been anonymous for two or three months now, I don't know what the answer is but at the moment he offers nothing to the team.

O'Cearuill had a really poor game, I actually felt sorry for the kid by the end, as nothing went right for him. Mayo looked to have a problem with their winger long before he tugged his shirt and got sent off. Ward did nothing, Bertin made the effort but with no real results. Kuipers looked erratic, as he's often done, let's be honest.

The only one who can justifiably hold his head up and say he did alright is Lynch, which has been the case for weeks. So much for our classy group of youngsters, hopefully they'll come good again soon, but Lynch is the only one of the lot who looks like he could play at a higher level.

Way out west
From where I was sat I thought that Ward and O'Ceurill had a pretty good understanding going on, some nice passing between them and a fair amount of good comminication, however that all went to seed a bit when they scored and sadly Ward faded out of the game. I thought that it was a bit odd to move O'Ceurill to left back in the second half as he wasn't doing that badly on the right hand side, but never mind. The comments from the Brentford fans as I was leaving were that they were glad Savage hadn't been on from the start as their defence didn't really know how to handle him, maybe he will be for our next game.
