I thought Casper had a MONSTER of a match. Some of his saves (especially the one in the 2nd half, diving to his left) were fantastic. He has to have at least a 7!
Apart from that, not too far off the mark. Though I would give Murray 8, Barnes 9 and Noone 6.5.

Completely agree with this. The dissapointing thing about today's game was the defence, it's unusual for us to concede 3 fairly soft goals- maybe we're missing El-Abd more than we thought we would

Ankergren - 6 One great save, would like to see the first goal again

Calderon - 7 Forced a sub he was playing that well first half.
Elphick - 5
Greer - 5
Painter - 5 Defence was shaky all round, but most of it seemed to be coming down the left side.

Bennett - 7 Good in the middle, some poor crosses from wide
Bridcutt -10 Would've been a 10 even without the goal, superb, flawless performance. Winning the match with his first ever goal was well deserved for the way he played today.
Dicker - 7 Lot of great passes but a few times he got caught
Noone - 6 Still doesn't seem to quite fit in with how we play, doesn't always make the right choices. But put in some decent crosses when the midfield players put him in the position to. Did nothing second half.

Barnes - 10 two chances, two brilliantly taken goals, and all round was on hs game today. Brilliant movement and link up play.
Murray - 7 Could have had two before he finally did equalise, we missed him when he went off

Wood - 5 Not able to get to grips with the game today
Kishishev - 6 Helped out the defence with a calm head which is what was needed but looked a little off the pace a couple of times too.

Ankergren 7 - doesn't command his box from set pieces which is becoming a bit of a worry, but great shot-stopper and love his time wasting.
Painter 8 - Most solid of the back 4 & GK for me, pushed forward a few times too but generally did what he needed to very well.
Greer 6 - Misplaced quite a few passes, sliced a few clearances, and got caught out of position a couple of times. A poor game by his usual standard.
Elphick 7 - Was solid in the air as always and did the no-nonsense mopping up well. Lost it once trying a surge out of defence but a good overall game.
Calderon 6 - Was good going forward (in absolutely acres down the right the whole first half) but got beaten down the flanks a few times by their winger.
Bridcutt 9 - This boy is fast becoming, alongside Bennett, our prize asset. Broke up play, always chose the simple ball, and WHAT a hit. Tek a boo son.
Dicker 7 - Radar was off a bit in the passing department but his ability to turn out of a tight space is unmatched in our current squad.
Bennett 7 - Bit quiet in the first half, cut a frustrated figure down the right in the second when he just couldn't quite get the better of the full back. Still a class act.
Noone 7 - Very tricky and puts in a decent ball but I'm not sure if he even knows what he's going to do when he gets on the ball. Drifted out of it in the second half.
Barnes 8 - Movement off the ball was superb, won countless free kicks in the hole, an assist and two goals. Just edged by Bridcutt for me for MOM.
Murray 7 - Won a lot in the air and well taken goal, but wasn't as clinical as usual, hitting the bar from 6 yards and wasting a couple of other headers.

Kishishev 7 - Always in the right place. Good to see him back.
Wood 6 - Had over a half hour but never imposed himself. Didn't quite hold it up as well as he can, for his size. Was onside for that through ball though.
Sandaza N/A - No time to make an impact but bundled over for what looked a pen and did at least work very, very hard for the time he got.

Ref 5 - Seemed to have forgotten his cards, the number of times he let them get away without bookings. Five minutes - where did he get that from? Still, seen worse.

Yep, but it the usually odd and somewhat meaningless NSC way of marking players, where having "nothing to do", or not being on the pitch very long brings a low score.

Thank god managers don't "mark" players like that.

I thought ankergren made two key saves, one I'd call great (diving to his left tipping round the bar), one I'd call brave (diving at Zoko's feet), other than that I wasn't that impressed with his positioning at many times, wayward shooting playing a part as shots went wide or straight at him, and his distribution was off with many clearances going out of play.

Defensively greer seemed to go for the long crossfield ball far too much, especially when i never came off, though he did play a great ball to Barnes for the third. He was always available, and was there to back up other defenders, provide an outlet for them when under pressure. Painter was calm throughout, elphick did ok. He played on the right, which is where greer usually plays when el abd is in the team, which is another plus for greer, showing that flexibility (I remember there being comments about england centre backs not playing on their preferred side, and how that weakened them during some of our wc qualifying matches). Caldy worked hard, but didn't seem to get down the wing as much.

Bridcutt was immense as is becoming the norm, and he took his goal brilliantly.

I thought the team as a whole was a little out of sorts. We didn't seem alert to the second ball most of the game, and seemed to have problem with communications, predicting each other, noone was in so much space so often and no one seemed to notice until he had been marked, players got in each others way on occasion, balls were played for runs that never came, runs were made for balls that never came and so on.

From a footballing stand point, I thought we were a grade or two below previous home games, but I can't fault the effort or the drama. I hope it's not tiredness, I hope it was just the effort carlisle put in closing us down, putting us under pressure and the football they played, or else it may impact on later games. Having said that, el abd is having a week off, kish and navarro are coming back, sparrow shouldn't be as tired, taricco can step in, noone hasn't played a full 90mins so should be alright, and holroyd and sandaza can provide support allowing the strikers resting time (even if it's only in the form of 30mins a game).

Casper - 7 - one fantastic save, however that did come from a ball he should have caught, not punched.

calde - 7 - made space on the right hand side.
elphick - 5 - not match fit, needs to do better Tuesday.
greer - 7 - solid.
painter - - 7 - see calde.

bennett - 8 - I thought he controlled the midfield, good corners
dicker - 6 - dispossed too much in midfield, especially late on.
bridcutt - 9 + 1 for the goal. Quality.
noone - 8 - their defence couln't handle him.

murray -8 - won everything in the air.
barnes - 10 - my MOM - two great finishes.

After rescuing a win from the jaws of a draw, I would say WE ARE GOING UP!!!!!!!!!!

Bridcutt was a 11 none of this 10 rubbish!

the substitution of Murray showed how much we struggle up top when he is not on the pitch - no one held the ball up once he was gone and it kept coming back at us. Until he scored don't think Barnes was having a good game and think he was in line to be subbed for Wood. Dicker looks tired and with Kish and Sparrow on the bench wouldn't be surprised to see him given a rest either Tues or next week.

It was a great save, but it came directly after he punched a ball which a ten year old would have caught.

Ankergren - 6 poor comand of the box today, made a world class save in 2nd half but it was from a ball he should have caught in the first place
Calderon - 7 best game in a while, a real threat all day down the wing
Painter - 7 Mr consistent, had a slow start today but made some key interceptions towards the end
Greer - 6 struggled a little bit playing on the left today and a bit overambitious with some of his passing
Elphick - 6 solid, but think Greer plays better alongside El-Abd
Bennnet - 7 good today but lacked final ball several times
Noone - 7 Always available but poor decision making at times, when he did get it right it was wasted by poor heading in the box
Dicker - 6 not one of his best days, some moments of class but gave the ball away too
Bridcutt - 9 MOM before he scored, so good at keeping us playing and breaking up play and what a strike at the end
Murray - 6 scored a good goal and as always great at linking up play, but very wasteful in front of goal today
Barnes - 9 superb link up play and quality finishing, scored 2 out of 2 chances today

Subs
Wood - 4 looked out of touch today, their 3rd goal came from his poor hold up play
Kishishev - 8 Brilliant compusure when he came on, don't think he gave the ball away once
Sandaza - 7 always a threat and worked hard for the team today

Poyet - 6 good starting line-up, but similar to Peterborough when he took Noone off we went to pieces. Not sure if Wood is carrying a knock but noway he should have come on for Nooney. Got out of jail today.
